Old bamboo fly rods are collectible and can be worth something.

But for the most part, it’s more sentimental than anything else.

There is just a huge difference and performance in even something made 10 years ago, if going to be used vs a decoration.

I love my older stuff, but it’s no comparison to the new stuff.

I don’t really fish much anymore these days. I have a few rods that have always been set aside. Ones that are special to me that my grandfather and I used many many years ago.

It's impossible to take their "reproductive harm" warnings seriously because they apply it to everything. It has lost all meaning.

Speaking about "reproductive harm" in CA, my father in law (RIP) didn't want to visit us from Orange County in SF, because he was afraid, he'd catch something.

I've had smart key pads on my last two houses, its so nice to NEVER carry keys - and some of them, you can open your house up when you're half-way around the world with an app.

They work well, we have one on the garage. Just make sure you have a key / another way to enter when the battery runs out.

I’m anti-smart home. With the power of AI, and the $500bn Open AI investment in Abilene, I have a feeling that all the smart-home tech could be easily hacked. My house coming alive against me is a nightmare I prefer to not experience.

Agreed…..and just know it will be at the most inconvenient time….. when you’re in a hurry and it’s somewhere around zero degrees….

Yes, keys work fantastic, extremely rare they fail.
