A house I did some work at a couple months ago exploded today.
Not a result of my work but almost definitely related to the project I was on.
Nobody was hurt. Even the dog is okay.

I love being a knife maker I really do. I love being a machinist even more. And I really love being self-employed and working with my family.

I recently came across a knife which was made by a woman, it turns out that she is daughter to someone who may be considered as knife maker royalty among peers (you are pretty much peerless, unless you run into Matt Gregory in which case all bets are off!). Anyhoo, I had no idea but I come to find out that she is now married to another smith who has made some waves and has made a name for himself. ETA: that family is now expanding with a few grandchildren scions added to the main tree!

Your post got me thinking, do you wish the same for your bloodline? I was hoping that Abigail goes into a branch of science which may one day find a cure for my insanity but if she also wants to become a machinist royalty type of thing, Ill be fine with that
