Random Thought Thread

Now, I make sure the back pockets in any pants I wear regularly have pockets up high enough that I'm not sitting on the contents, especially as I sometimes carry a pocket pistol in the right rear.

Which brands are you looking at for these? Most of the pants I can find stick the pockets smack in the middle of the posterior such that the only thing I can comfortably carry in a back pocket is a thin bandana.

Not so random thought;

If anyone has to swap/install a faucet, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Ridgid EZ Change Plumber’s Faucet Install/Removal Tool.

Someone actually put a decent amount of thought into this thing, and it definitely simplified things with its adaptability/flexibility.

If you need it ASAP, Home Depot generally carries them in-store.

The only pants I’ve seen with back pockets above the gluteus maximus, are ‘old man’ pants where the waistline is made to go above the bellybutton (usually worn with suspenders?) 😅

I absolutely hate that! Best ones I have found for this are Carhartt. However, as years go by, even with the same pant "model", pocket size and placement does change a bit. My main work pants are their "Men's Utility Work Pant - Loose Fit - Canvas" (Model B151).

When seated, the very bottom edge of the pockets just touch what I'm sitting on.

ETA - Jeans are model B13 (which is apparently now model BD4941-M). Pockets are a tad lower though.

I haven't carried anything in a back pocket in a long time now...knife, wallet, what have you? Weaned myself of the habit some years ago, and I think there's something to be said for it.

That said, I've been thinking about carrying a knife in back pocket on the rare occasion I either want a j-frame or sap in my right front pocket...and I don't want to carry AIWB.

Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, you'll probably need to get used to it and hopefully find it works the way you want.
Never carried a sap.. always wanted a good one though. Any recommendations for a good brand or would I be better off making my own?

I already have the leather making stuff and a big ass 3/4” ball bearing.

I did make a monkeys fist years ago though. Hits the same I assume, and is a pretty innocuous keychain. Hit a stop sign with it once and not as hard as I can either. It put a dent half an inch deep in it.
