That just triggered a chemical flashback from my higher education. I challenge you to a duel. Choose your weapons: Olde English or Bud Ice.
How is it that some beers want to have a born date, they are justed brewed and not aged? I want a good rich aged in the wooden cask beer or as close to that as possible. For some reason a new beer just put in the can, is like cheap radiator water out of a broke down Ford Pinto;.

I can't answer your question, but I will emphasize that quality of the brew is not the chief consideration for Fortyhands. Radiator fluid will work just fine so long as it's cold and light colored.

The British still do traditional beers best, although there are many crappy imported beers marketed as British classics that you should avoid. I recommend Theakston Old Peculier.

I do love a good classic British ale. While American ales can be good in their own way, I haven't found a US-made ale that quite replicates it.

I found out rather quickly when I was in London and invited to their "locals" with my colleagues at the Met...that I could not match their intake of the brews on tap.

It was hilarious when, the prior year, while I was helping them with one of their cases stateside, that they thought they had died and gone to heaven when they found out that staying at the Embassy Suites in Miami entitled them to drink beer for free in the atrium. They were positively giddy.

A great bunch.
