Happy birthday and I'm happy you are okay!!!!My 48th birthday was on the 28th of this month. It won’t soon be forgotten. I was working in the woods as I do on most days, and a limb from a tree came down and struck me in the head and face. I was wearing a helmet which probably saved my life. My wife went back to the scene and found it mangled along with my bloody DEK1 that I had been pocket carrying. I was alone out there when it happened except for my dogs that I had tied up far away to keep them out of harm’s way. I didn’t know what happened at the time. I knew I watched the tree I was working on land safely where it was supposed to. I was down in a ravine. I convinced myself to get to my saw a turn it off, then climb out. I did and I got back to a side by side. I got my dogs and drove home. When I got home I realized the severity. I had to be airlifted out. I had multiple skull and face fractures. The response teams were great. They airlifted me to a hospital that is a 5 hour drive from my house. I’m back home recovering now. I’m really thankful for the responders and my wife and my personal support group. So after it was all settled and I got back home my wife went and checked out the scene and it seems that it was a limb from a tree nearby that was partially rotten and was disturbed by my work in the area and came down and got me.
Glad it wasn’t worse! Hope you heal up fast. Good job on the PPE.My 48th birthday was on the 28th of this month. It won’t soon be forgotten. Is that in MinnesotaThere is a tourist attraction not too far from here that has an enormous Paul Bunyan and Babe the big blue ox. The ox is more anatomically accurate than necessary and certain parts have to be painted more often than others because people can’t resist going under there for a photo shoot. No it’s the Trees of Mystery in Northern California, pretty close to the Oregon border. They have sky buckets that take you through the redwoods and stuff like that.Is that in Minnesota
