I have made knife blades "ring" before and after heat treat. If anything, they ring better soft. My guess is that the jumbled mess that is martensite might damp vibrations better.

If you put enough carbon into steel that it becomes graphitic, you've made cast iron. It rings even less than steel.

It looks like the metal composition and the shape are the main thing. From what I read they cast them and cool them super slowly and then scrape away from the inside. I am going to make a big ass bell this year.

I'm pretty sure those are cast. Although I have seen on Mr Roger's years ago where they press them out on a wheel from blanks

I was making myself ramen again,and it was Buldak ×2 spiciness.I decided to poke the pack with a knife to open it, and I barely — like literally just a scratch — cut my finger.But that ×2 nuclear sauce got right into the cut…bro, this can officially be considered torture.
