And folks, please remember that ‘the box’ screening does not detect polyps (where most colon cancer starts). Yes, most polyps are benign, but they can be removed during screening colonoscopy and sent for pathology. Cutting out a pre-cancerous polyp can be life saving and the patient won’t even notice due to sedation.

Seeing someone die from colon cancer is not a nice thing. Being pro-active is much better than reactive.
Yep, my BIL died from it at a young age. No symptoms until he suddenly bled into the toilet bowl.
I don't trust mailing out your turds. The company calls themselves "Exact Sciences", but then has a disclaimer about false results.
I'll just continue seeing Dr Cosby every few years for a colonoscopy.

The guy who’s experienced in putting people under?

Are you sure that soreness was a colonoscopy?

What sort of symptoms seem to be the most common in the 30-40 year old patients? Do most folks say "I had no idea until I found blood in my stool" or are there some less obvious symptoms that are indicative sooner?

A little bit of everything, from "I've had persistent loose stools and diarrhea for the last 10 years" to "I never had any of that stuff, went in because I had a pain on my right side and it had already spread to my liver."

For what it's worth, guys it's not normal to have the equivalent of a burnt sienna Jackson Pollock left over after you go to the bathroom. If you have that all the time, see a doctor. Unless you're like Nate and Mark and you eat those little lava pumpkins by the handful. Then it's totally normal.
