That thing better be nice and roundQuestion on another forum: "Do you like Square or Round Butts?"
I shot better scores with a 2 1/2" Model 19 with a round butt, but the Model 15 was an accurate weapon. We used to shoot our quals at the NYPD range up in Rodman's Neck (Bronx).Square butt is great for target stocks.
You were using service stocks, I would image.I shot better scores with a 2 1/2" Model 19 with a round butt, but the Model 15 was an accurate weapon. We used to shoot our quals at the NYPD range up in Rodman's Neck (Bronx).
On the M15, OEM. And the M19 I had my best scores with at FLETC was also OEM. But my carry M19 had Pachmayer's on as I recall. At some time I used Tyler's T-grips on my duty guns. I still have a pair of the black and stainless versions in my holster box. Just can't remember exactly when I used them and for how long on a particular firearm. You were using service stocks, I would image.
I find hand fit is far more important on revolvers than it is on semi-autos. Seems true for me, at least. On the M15, OEM. And the M19 I had my best scores with at FLETC was also OEM. I shot better scores with revolvers than semi-autos for a long time...except for a Colt Gov't Model (Series 70) I had but which I turned in because of issues they wouldn't pay to repair.I find hand fit is far more important on revolvers than it is on semi-autos. Seems true for me, at least.
What do you make of the new Gen 6? Seems like near universal praise, from what I’ve read. Better ergonomics and so forth.I'm a Glock guy…
The last one I bought is a Gen 5. I don't think I'll be buying just to buy. My first was purchased in 1989. My last a few years back. What do you make of the new Gen 6? Seems like near universal praise, from what I’ve read. Better ergonomics and so forth.
