Random Thought Thread

Follow on question for folks in regions where it’s not uncommon for subzero high temps;

What happens when you drive to work? Is it common for workplaces to provide utilities to plug your block heaters in? I’d assume an 8 hour shift is enough to cold soak the vehicle.
Diesels don’t like the severe cold. Battery warmers and block heaters for sure. Synthetic oil really does make a difference with gas engines. I plug my yukon in when it is around zero (however not when parked when I am at my cabin). My old 7.3 does not like it when it is below zero. Some people run diesels most of the time if it is really cold. You can buy used ones from the North Slope that have low miles, but have been running lots of time.

Some work places provide plug-ins here.

Colder than -30F is brutal on machinery/hydraulics, so places like Fairbanks hold off on snow removal and trash pick up when it gets brutal.

Hey we are right across the river north of you! There is no way I am closing my shed anytime soon.

I've been test driving trucks this week and every one of em needed a jump. Hard to tell if anything is wrong in this cold.

I really hope you're not sober.

I'm working on that.

I'm not upset about spending time with her, it's just that I keep going cross eyed at the instructions:

"There’s three sets of dragon tiles - white, red and blue. The red and blue dragons are shown with a red and blue dragon. The white dragon is represented by a white box, which is why we call it "soap"." 😵‍💫
