Thank God we have a dual fuel HVAC system. At some point after going to bed last night the heat pump had some sort of issue. (I'm guessing a capacitor.) Thermostat shows that heat is on but the fan is not turning outside...so it brought up auxiliary, (propane furnace), when the temp dropped two degrees indoors.

I checked that the fan can spin freely, and checked that it wasn't defrosting, because the furnace wasn't on to perform the defrost. So, either the capacitor or something in the motor took a crap. No breakers were tripped.

Furnace is so much nicer...though more expensive to run at $3 per gallon.

I'll call the HVAC folks next week when things settle down.

What a pain. On a similar note we’ll wake up about once every other year and our hvac will be calling for heat but not heating. Sensor has to be cleaned/roughed up with sand paper. One of these days I’ll do that preemptively. Quite nice not to wake up to a fifty something degree house

Because of all these posts, I got hooked on meat chips. They have a really good ingredient list, and they’re sold in the store where I usually buy beer, cola, and that kind of stuff.
I’d make them myself, but the ones they sell there are so good that I just end up buying them.
By the way, they use similar spices too.
