I get a stamp every year, just in case we see some while they’re in season while I’m plains deer hunting or pheasant hunting. Hasn’t happened yet.

I can't begin to describe how large of a presence Robert Duvall filled for young Texans who first met him as Captain Gus McCrea. Duvall wasn't a Texan by birth but, man alive, he sure earned the title.



Some of his characters may have disparaged our people, but Duvall was easily forgiven.

He made up for it with ease.



I never had the pleasure, but my dad once met him in a hotel bar in Argentina. They shared a few cocktails and chatted for a while. Dad said that he was exactly how you would imagine: friendly and easy to talk to about anything.
