Random Thought Thread

There could be a one, too, and three, that are very similar but need different sheaths

And then a four, which will be called a 1.2.

You really flubbed the EDC naming after the EDC2 because in truth your EDC3 is really just an EDC 2.1 so it would follow that your most recent 3” EDC (2024) should really be called the EDC1.2.

I'm going to stretch it to 3.3"

And then call it the 3.2"

Lol, we're not going back and changing anything

Really more just reveling in the absurdity of it

Maybe it is time to retire the EDC pattern!😅

You could just take the most recent EDC 1.2 (3.25”) blade shape and merge it with a proportionally sized (~4.25”) DEK handle and call it the MDK (Mini Daily Knife or the Mini-DK)

Then you’d have a new model with additional CPK looking brand continuity aesthetic to go along with your DEK series, UF2 series, and SHIV2 series.

Google Gemini:

"I have created a composite knife based on your specifications, merging the handle from the larger knife (Image 0) with the blade from the smaller knife (Image 1).

The resulting knife features the distinctive dark, textured handle scales from the first image and the precise drop-point blade and signature from the second. The blade has been scaled to appear proportionally shorter (around 3.25 inches) relative to the longer, full-size handle (which remains around 4.5 inches), resulting in a compact, EDC-style fixed blade with an overall length of approximately 7.75 inches."

EDIT: If this new model should ever make it on to the white board and an eventual pre-order I would like to claim the BMF edition. 😄

One of the best bangs for the buck, is still an Air Venturi Avenger paired with a DonnyFL moderator (if noise is an issue). The .22 I have is quite accurate, and the pellet impact is louder than the shot.

The Avenger + DonnyFL is still cheaper than a Benjamin Marauder (and quieter), and the standard Marauder isn’t regulated, where the Avenger is. The regulated Marauder is even more expensive.

Of course, and FX Impact M3 is even nicer if someone really gets the bug.

For pcp air rifles, is there much of an accuracy difference between the bolt action models vs semi-auto and full auto?

Since this is the ask Nathan a question thread, I will respond. I don't know. Probably.

That might be a good question to bring to the random thought thread where everything is off topic

I haven’t really played with any of the full auto or even semi auto ones, so I don’t really know.

I do know that some of the bolt action models can be MOA and even sub-MOA accurate once properly tuned, and using the right pellets (or slugs. Some rifles are pickier than others, and you might have to try a wide variety of pellets/slugs before finding the one that particular rifle seems most consistent with).

That’s also one of the notable things about the Avenger I mentioned; while it was designed and tuned with the Diabolo Exact Match Heavy pellets, it’s pretty accurate with a wider variety of pellets and slugs than most (some air rifles are REALLY picky, as in one or two out of dozens of pellets, actually has consistent accuracy).

I will say, the videos of the Hatsan full auto .25 being used to cut a 2x4 in half, made it look like a whole lotta fun 😁
