Dark Far Side:

It's a sell by this date thing.

I was working in a butcher shop and we would turn stuff that was still good but had a sell by date into less expensive stuff and take it home after buying it.

As long as it didn't smell like a corpse it should be fine.
My land neighbor needed some help clearing trees, so I gladly went over to help. After working hard all day he said he had some big steaks to grill. I was pretty hungry and looking forward to chowing down…. Until I noticed the steaks had green slime over them while still in the package🤢. He opened one package and it would have gagged a maggot! The numbnut had taken them out and set them on the counter prior to packing to go to his cabin and he forgot how long they were out of refrigeration. (The date was still good though🤣)

So, thinking back, I'm pretty sure I can credit BRK for leading me to CPK and blade forums. I had been using and abusing an ESEE 3 and an izula for a few years and started to get the hankering for a "nicer" (steel/handle material) knife. BRK were readily available, good looking knives and they really got my attention. I'm a person that tries to do his due dilligence when spending money, and started reading everything i could find on BRK. Well I found plenty of reasons/allegations to not take a chance with their product.

Instead I spent my money on a Fiddleback forge, then a mid-tech from them. Eventually my DEK 1 in aebl from CPK's website. So I'm of the few today that can be "thankful" for Bark River and leading me to these forums lol.
