Nathan - the more I use your strop compound especially with knives that have chips and rolls in the blade the more I am impressed with the compound. Not sure if you are using industrial grade lapping products to assist in binding and removing material but, man, you are grossly underselling/undermarketing yourself on this product.

Agreed!

It's awesome stuff!!!!!

Yeah, it's REALLY GOOD. We use it here exclusively. If there was something better I'd be using it. I've tried everything and this is the best, for this application.

I have literally lost count of the number of national and world championships we have with it now.

The mistakes the industry is making is:

making these compounds as if they were a mold polishing paste, which makes no sense if you think about it

Ignoring the compatibility of the base with whatever a strop is currently treated with

Making a compound that builds up in a way that gunks up not just the strop but also the work piece.

In short, I don't know anybody making a good stropping compound correctly for our application as good as mine

I'm also ready to stop producing it for other people because the spraying application problems is a pain in the ass and there's really not a lot of juice for the squeeze. For me, the way I use it, it's perfect. But people not using it the way I use it run into problems.

But yeah, my dry, highly friable, diamond stropping schmoo is the best thing to sharpen a knife out there. IMO. I love it.

And now, for a limited time only, we will be offering Nate's ultra deluxe combination polishing and stropping cloths...but we can't do this all day...so call now!!!

It's high concentration and the little particles do jam up sometimes but I have an air nozzle right next to my sharpening setup and I can just blow it back down and send it.

I could reduce the concentration but then it would require more carrier and now you're back into gunk that prevents the actual abrasives from abrading.

It's perfect for the way I use it but most people aren't using it the way I do and I don't think it's a good product for everyone. For example, just sitting on the shelf without being shaken for a few months is enough to ruin the product. That's not a problem here in my shop but plenty of people would use it that way so it's not a good fit for people not using it the way I do.

I didn't use it for a long time, Nate, and it sprayed out fine after I took it off the shelf and shook it some. I had a few distinct spots on the strop, but I just smoothed it a bit. Provides a nice bite to the edge.

Which is why you have to spray it

And it is challenging to spray an emulsion of this kind reliably, in a package that might set a long time.

I'm sure there's a way. But the development stopped when I had a compound that worked well for me and I'm not able to invest the resources to make a similar compound that would work for folks using it differently than me

I noticed that too. Could you do a small video on how you spray it post it? I think I am doing it correctly. I spray it about 4-8 inches or so away from the strop load it on and call it a day. I let my knife do the rubbing in so to speak.

But man it really works.

Also - I shake mine every week or so just to keep the particulars moving its really easy to do. I hope you allow pre-exisiting customers purchase it....even after you discontinue the sales lol.

If you Google it, you can find the Cook medical Hemospray that I helped design that sprays a similar sized powder down a 2 m cannula. That's my baby. Google it. I didn't develop the actual powder or the surgical procedure but I did a large part of the R&D (in our R&D lab) that figured out how to spray that powder down a long skinny tube in a wet environment to stop internal bleeds in some specific applications. I did not do the initial styling of the product but what you see on the internet is almost 100% my work and the internal engineering is pretty remarkable, I'm very proud of it. There's a lot of stuff there that you can't see but, this is the only other damp powder distribution problem that I've worked on in my career that was similarly challenging.

I will do that. Thanks for the tips and education....I guess I just started the bull market on the rare commodity of the schmoo lol
