Five shots with my .308 G3 at 100 yards

The first three rounds was looking pretty good

147 grain 1980's military surplus ball ammo. If the round doesn't get you, the smoke will.

That's why you have to shoot five rounds to make a group

I should probably clean it. I've never cleaned it

We used the tube my cleaning rod was stored in for a science experiment with the kids were in grade school

It was never cleaned and returned so the rod just kicked around and got bent

I don't think I've actually cleaned a rifle in over 10 years

Oh my God

Now let’s cook up some hand loads! Or shoot match ammo post cleaning. I bet it’ll tighten it up a smidge

I have some 165 grain Sierra match King BTHP surplus landing next week. It's going to be wild if this old European battle rifle is actually Sub moa

A while back I read something about Carlos Hathcock and the rifle he carried in Vietnam.

It was a one MOA rifle. Which is not very impressive. Until you realize they're talking about a 10-shot group in a 10" target at 1,000 yards. And then it is impressive.

We all measure rifle accuracy with moa. But the group count, range, and proximity to point of aim matters different amounts to different people in different circumstances.

Hathcock. Whatta name

Hathcock is a great name lol especially for a fire arm guy.

Yeah I should lean more into the 5 shot group typically I go with 3 for my hunting rifles. Those thinner barrels tender to fling them after about four shots.
