The food was great over a hickory and oak fire.. On the Camp Grill. Down by the creek. Now I just have to do it over again next week. o_O
Your rafter work is top notch bud!
I hope they stay exposed.

Thank you.... Yes, they do stay exposed. They get sanded and oiled. The oak boards on the rafters stay exposed as the ceiling.
Glad to hear it.
I was conned into helping rebuild a few houses up in Lake Arrowhead years ago that were affected by a huge fire and a few of the owners wanted their vaulted ceilings Sheetrocked even though they weren’t damaged from fire or smoke.

It was a shame to see these old cabins lose some of their uniqueness.

Been playing with my EDC2 for a few days now(my first CPK). Now I know why in his old threads Nathan used to say something to the effect of 'knife sharp, will cut'. Tried the forearm hair test and found out in time, that if I wasn't paying attention, I would be gathering material for a skin graft.
Next step, mangle a perfectly good knife and find out who does kydex pants for a nekkid EDC2.

Ask Azwelke. I am pretty sure that he makes sheaths for the EDC2.

Thx, sorry I wasnt clear, mean to remove the scales, and get a kydex sheath. Probably paracord wrap it too[/QUOTE

You probably already know this, but if you’re going to do a full handle wrap, you may want to do it first, before contracting for a kydex sheath. I don’t know how well a cord wrap would hold up to being stuffed into kydex. Most of the wrapped handles I have seen that work with kydex have been resin saturated. Of course, if the sheath does not approach the wrapped handle, no problem. Okay, enough of listening to myself jabbering. Mike

Looks like heaven to me.

At work tonight, had court this morning. Beats my day!

Yeah, thought about it. Will go in for a low riding taco style kydex sheath with just enough retention/grip area to hold the knife and will build the paracord after that, and stop just short of the sheath... let's see. Something like Lorien did, except that he used a leather sheath which is probably more forgiving to a paracord wrap
