We do this pretty frequently. It's called "Bladesports". We had somebody out just this weekend getting a day's worth of training with Jo.
 
My wife clogged the toilet with cat litter that was supposed to dissolve in water...

It really does dissolve in water. She just thought it would be a great idea to dump the entire bag in at once. :rolleyes::oops:

The toilet is literally concreted solid now.

Really curious what I’m supposed to do with this.

Tomorrow I’ll go buy some heavy-duty chemicals that are supposedly meant to dissolve it.

You need a snake auger. It just needs to get broken up some so the universal solvent* can do its work.

Yeah, I thought the same — this probably just needs to be broken up a bit.

The nearest store is closed, and driving to the other one would take over an hour. I don’t have the energy for that kind of adventure today.

I’ll buy a plumbing snake and some chemicals.

But honestly, I think even just the snake will handle it.

I think the chemicals used to unclog drains work by dissolving proteins and fats. And things like hair and oils etc. They might not do much to a water-soluble kitty litter. This might not need a chemical reaction this might work with a physical reaction.

I would dig it out as best you can and poke a coat hanger in there and put a bucket of hot soapy water on top of it and admonish your wife not to use the sewer as a trash can.

The funny thing is that this litter really does dissolve well — it just seems like the critical threshold was exceeded 😅
I’m still chuckling about it a bit.
She thought I was going to be mad.
But this is damn funny. 😁
By the way, it hasn’t even gone very far down the pipe.
I’m going to try just hot water right now.
Just a little.
If it doesn’t work, I’ll do it properly tomorrow.
