All media afaik

And nothing new. When people complain about the current state of media, I encourage them to read a newspaper from 100 years ago. It's always been about sensationalism, manufactured drama and selective truths. There never was any "golden age of journalism," imo - even those highly esteemed journos from the supposed "golden age" lied to people all the time.

Few ever want to remain journalists. Most want to become columnists, podcasters, tv talking heads, serve a particular point of view. The worst want to inject themselves into the story.

Oftentimes, when you hear someone espouse an idiotic idea, odds are it's not their idea. It was put in their head by someone, often someone who knows better.

As a young man I realized that it is important to know what it is that you think about something and, why you think it.

As I got older I realized it's okay to not know what you think about something. But it is critically important to know why you think something.
