Well, that Peltier cooler neck fan did a pretty good job.

Ambient temp when I started mowing was 98f and 111f heat index. By the time I got done, temp had dropped to 90f and 101f heat index.

Used the Seek Nano to measure the temperature of the cooling plates immediately upon taking it off my neck, and it was able to maintain a temperature of 73f while in contact with my neck in those conditions.

73f doesn’t sound particularly cold, but it’s noticeable when ambient temps are in the 90s.

I also used one of those cooling towels thoroughly chilled and soaked under the cold tap and wrung out before putting on my head under the boonie cap. That was noticeably colder than the neck cooler, for the first 5 minutes outside. By the 10 minute mark, the wet towel had warmed up, and for the rest of the time, my head felt hotter than my neck with the cooler.

The neck cooler just felt like a constantly cool towel on my neck.

They also designed it so it allows pass through charging (it charges via USB-C, and you can run it while plugged in), so I got one of those 40,000mAh pocket bricks to use with it, as the internal battery only lasts maybe 90 minutes on the Maximum cooling mode. After 1 hour, the brick was down to 90% from a full charge. Impressive. This could potentially run the fan for a whole workday outside.

*** almost forgot, if anyone wanted to know, the fan is the Ranvoo Aice Lite Max available on Amazon.

How can we install all of this into underwear?

Cartridge style oil filters are one of the worst things they've done to cars these days. But it's not so much the filter itself, it's that the removable housing is f'ing plastic. WTF?
Agree!! I can get behind the premise of the cartridge, but the plastic housing doesn’t give a whole lot of confidence tightening down…..

Right? And you'd think they'd be cheaper without the outer shell, but nope. Changed the oil on my car the other day and noticed a drip today. Checked and it was coming from the filter housing. Guess I had it a bit too tight, so re-torqued it with an actual f'ing torque wrench, and seems to be ok. Have never had to use a torque wrench on a filter or drain plug in my life.
