Random Thought Thread

It's a scorcher here with no clouds, but despite these concerns I didn't want to just sit on the couch while athletes like Joey Chestnut are out there giving it their all. Off to the track I went. (wouldn't be the first time I've been carted off to an ambulance)
Got to admit I overheated quickly from just a few short intervals.
Personally I’ve never understood this fascination that some people have with watching a young man eat a bunch of dicks, hotdogs!

Weekend project completed.

Hopefully it’s just the angle of the camera, and that board isn’t tilted a bit backwards.

Learned my lesson when I was a kid. Another one of those things I saw on TV/in movies and like lockpicking, thought, “That’s cool! I need to learn how to do that!”, and decided to learn knife throwing.

Used and old pallet and a board for the target, and made the mistake of leaning it against a wall.

Started at about 8’, and once I finally got the consistency to make the knife stick, I’d move back a bit. After a couple hours , I’d moved back to somewhere around 15-20’. Threw the knife hard and fudged the rotation.

Knife hit the board hard, from the throw, and all I recall was a loud SPANG, and the knife bounced and went buzzing past my head (I could hear the knife vibrating, it was that close). “Oh… that backwards lean means that a bad throw can bounce the knife upwards slightly, so it comes back at me, vs bouncing downwards into the dirt. I think I’m done for the day”.

Once again...

Right by my house and the store (which is already closed, by the way), there’s a huge and beautiful parking lot.

Benches, lots of nice flowers and bushes it’s a really pleasant and quiet spot overall.

People live nearby who are already asleep.....And there was a drunk group of people sitting there.

I shouted to them from the window, warning that loud music, noise, and leaving trash behind would force me to come out and drive them away with a pepper spray.

I warned them once.In the end, I had to go out again and actually do it.

Literally just two rules:

Don’t make noise and don’t leave trash.

They broke both.

Why is it always like this?!

And now the pepper spray is empty too. 🥹

Be careful doing that

Around here that can turn into a bad situation quickly
I know, dude. You're absolutely right.

That's exactly why I didn't leave my property fence.

I have access to the roof, and my pepper spray has good range.

Like, I'm not stupid enough to go out in the middle of the night to drunk idiots, haha.I'm not crazy...!

Anyway, I've thought this whole thing through really well. It's a very busy spot with lots of people around.

Anyway, I have a really high fence.

I take a ladder to get higher than the fence, and right there is my parking spot.

Usually, a warning is enough. But if you don’t scare them off properly once, they get used to it and basically start living in places like my parking spot.

In short, you're 100% right either way.

Just kidding! I do not condone violence!!!
If you throw a K18 skillfully enough, it’s more powerful than a firearm.

I have no proof, but I’m convinced of it.

Once I saw a 9K111 Fagot being fired.

So yeah, a K18 can be just as dangerous.

I think even if you’re defending your own home, with K18, they’ll still label you a war criminal.

Yes, that thing really is called the 9K111 Fagot.

I’m serious, I’m not joking.

You made up some rules about a nearby parking lot and pepper sprayed some guys for breaking them? Am I reading this correctly?
Private property.

Mine.

Unhinged and extremely loud people who leave a huge mess and trash everywhere around them.

I warned them the first time.

The police in my area, unfortunately, will show up, have a polite chat with them, and kindly ask them to leave MY property.

And…

About 20 minutes later they come back and do exactly the same thing again.

While my employees or I have to clean up vomit, broken glass, and all sorts of crap in the morning.
(And sometimes the same sleeping guys as well.)

😔

So this is your store and parking lot? I think you’re supposed to be bribing the local police.
