Ranger Hawk....

Gents,
I ordered a Ranger Hawk from Dana at Fort Turner on 12/13/12 with a delivery date of "early" February, still no Hawk. The last email status I received back from him was in "early" March. Should I wait some more or act on this? Thanks for your input. Mike

Well that sucks.

He has listed on his website that delivery dates would be about 8 weeks. I just passed my 8th week of waiting last friday.

You will get it I waited 6 months for mine Military and LE get first service Thats the way it should be. You just have to be patient not much else you can do. Hes probably backed up.
 
Thanks Legion. Got word from him just this morning. Mike ps I am or was both of those....

Then he should have said he was backlogged 6 months instead of eight weeks on his website. Had I known it was going to be a half year wait, I wouldn't have bothered with it.

I can't say for sure you will have to wait that long but this seems to be an ongoing problem with him I waited that long almost 2 years ago ordered in December didn't get it until June. Not even counting the time I had to wait because he over hardened it and the edge was chipping and I had to send it back for him to fix it.

I hope not. When I put my order in back in early March, he had a statement on his site that he was backlogged and the wait would be "about eight weeks". So I took that at face value and decided I could wait about eight weeks. Eight weeks yes. Eight months no.

Has anyone ever received a hawk from him in just 2 months ? Maybe a long time ago don't think that's the way it is anymore. What you are getting made this time Wolf ?

Nothing odd. Just his standard Roger's Rangers model.

Next tomahawk to join my arsenal after this one though, will be a spontoon type. I've wanted one for years but you never see them.
 
A Spontoon Is something I also would love to have the only one I've ever seen for sale is garbage steel. Maybe one of the great maker's here can do it

I'm really surprised Cold Steel hasn't made one yet. It seems like something they'd be interested in doing. I emailed them a long time ago suggesting it.

Currently though the maker I'm considering most for the Spontoon project is H&B Forge.
 
You should post in there new subform here I will do the same I have a picture of the one I'd like post it tomorrow if you find anybody wants to take it on let me know been looking for one a long time.

Actually... it's just too good. I went ahead and contacted H&B Forge about making one.

Just got an email reply from Jarrod at H&B. He told me he's made a few spontoon pipe hawks in the past and he'd be glad to do it.

What I have in mind isn't a spontoon pipe hawk, but a wicked Spontoon Spike Hawk. Eeeeeevil.
