Ranger Knives

I have a older RD7 it's a great knife for camping and yard work, very durable and reliable...

Justin has learned his craft extremely well, and is a great guy to boot. Never, never, try to outdrink him, though, and never accept his challenge to do so. He will win everytime, and you shall be hungover, and it shall feel like a post-survival situation, because it was.:cool:

I have an RD-6 and love it, though it is a little handle-heavy. I used to have an RD-9 that I traded - didn't like it as much. I handled a 7 and it felt great - really good balance. They are a very good value in a hard-use knife.

My old-model RD7 is my go-to knife for pretty much everything I don't trust my other blades to handle. That should tell you something. :D

Justin is indeed a great guy as well, though I'm sure he gets tired of hearing it. ;) In fact, he provided VIP passes for me and my sister to attend last year's Blade Show. Truly a cool guy.

I have an RD9 recurve, very cool and a great price, Justin is a great guy to boot so I will always recommend him. I want an RD6 for the next one.

you've been here since 05 and haven't seen all the threads we've made of Rangers!

IMO their are none better than Justin for customer support
and getting what you want. No better person to deal with
and Rangers are made to use and use some more.

If you want a perfect safe queen, their are other options,
if you want a tough blade you can trust, at a great deal,
Rangers are one of the best...

I haven't got an RD6, but I've got an RD4, RD7 and RD9. I like them all. Justin makes knives that you can really pound on without worrying. Rangers are indeed hard use knives, not pretty safe queens. Although, Justin does make some pretty damn pretty knives, as you can see by checking out some of the customs he's made at the Ranger Knives forum. The RDs are great knives for big stuff - batoning, chopping and generally beating the hell out of things. They're very tough. And they do cut well for knives of that size. They're a bit too heavy for precision work, but then, so are all knives of similar size. The warranty is great, the prices are great... I would recommend going for it. And yeah, Justin is a great guy. :D

Rangers, I have an older style RD6, like others have stated, working tool you won't be inclined to pamper, excellent bang for the buck. Justin is a stand up guy to deal with. I just picked up the RD4, absolutely bombproof:)

bottom line is this:

you will probably never hear someone say anything bad about justin or his work and that includes you if you decide to make the plunge.

i own at least about 12 rangers.......any questions.

oh yeah, here's one:......find me a better bang for my buck?????

I have a RD4 and RD6. I love them both and take them out whenever possible. As with many knives of this type, the sheaths leave a little to be desired, but because the price is so good I didn't mind adding a Spec Ops for my RD 6 and leather for the RD4. And again, Justin is great to work with.

Just got my first ranger a few weeks ago, an RD9. It doesnt have the weight that my Dogfather or Battlemistresses have but its much quicker in the hand. Its a great, "big" knife if you get my drift, good chopper but a versetile cutter for its size and not too thick. Justin was a great guy to talk too and I hope to be getting more products from him soon. I figure you'll like whatever you get from him.

I have some Rangers and love them, and have two more on the way, and the price for what you get, I will always refer people to Justin, always.

Got a RD9 about a year ago. Love it! Got a Shiv a few weeks ago. Love it! Honestly.... my favorite knives to date.

Wow! alot of response to his work! Well I originally was looking for a little bird and could not find one anywhere, BQM was sold out and I could not find one anywhere else. The Ranger websites online ordering was not working so I E mailed Justin about buying one direct and maybe doing a custom knife too. Man, like 1 minute later I had a response from him. I generally have a hard time sending out my credit card info via e-mail, but I had a good feeling about him so I pulled the trigger. He charged my card immeadiatly and two days later I had my knife in hand. Super nice guy, wonderfull product, and great customer service to boot. Thats rare these days.

I will be ordering another soon and am working on a sketch for a custom from him as well. I guess Ive been bitten by that bug again!! Just unsure about ehat size to choose a RD6 or a RD7.
