Ranger Renegade Hawk.......wow!!!

Justin, I got the e-mail, and it would be absolutely cool with me if you posted the sketch (although it is a bit rough). I'd like to know what some of the other hawk fans think of the design. Take care, and thanks for everything!

Got the sketch, Awesome!!!! got me thinking too much now!!  This is gonna be a cool hawk!!

leatherman

Thanks a million for posting the sketch of J.Daveys hawk for me. I look forward to hearing some feedback on his design and I am sure that he is too. Thanks again.

Thanks Justin and Leatherman! I am also eagerly awaiting some feedback! Justin, you have gone above and beyond. How do I go about the order process when I'm ready?

Do you think the handle spike should be straight? That's been going through my head the last couple of days. the design is Ranger Knives all the way, but I added a slight "Fransican (sp?)" downward curve to the head for increased downward leverage. Other than that, it was all Justin. The guy is incredible!

J.Davey

When you are ready just shot me and email and we will get it all worked out. I still have to do a revised or should I say I need to clean up the sketch a little and put in dimensions. As for the handle spike I like it the way it is. I have done a couple like that before and they seem to work well for digging and prying when need be. Not to mention I just like the look of it. :D I look forward to hearing some feedback on it.

Well, what do ya' all think??? I've been into knives and such since I was a child, and this is my first shot at helping to design something I'll actually own (although I have about 200 different ax and knife designs I've done since I was about 22...this was kind of a spur of the moment thing, since Justin's design was already soooo close to what I wanted). Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all involved!

Hey, Moderators, is there any way we could get a copy of this moved into the General Knife Discussion section? I know it is a lot to ask, but this is my first design that will actually be made, and I want to know what people think of it, and that section gets more traffic than this one does (sadly)! Just a question. Thanks either way!

Justin, I just e-mailed you a slight re-design. I just made the ax head slightly more down turned (to aid in proper connection on a swing). The spike looks more curved, but that was unintentional...sorry, just a by-product of my sketch. Let me know what you think! I still want to go about moving this project forward! I think we have a real winner here! It looks cool (to me, at least, and is very functional in its design). Let's hope some others like it too! Then you could sell more of them and everyone will be happy (me with a hawk I love and you with some more people helping to spread the Ranger Knives name)!

Damn nice! If I could change something (just to my personal taste), the edge would be slightly longer downwards! Apart from that..........awesome!

Bo

That is awesome! I agree with Bo though, more edge would be nice. I dont want to be rude, but how much would something like that cost? Thanks.

Thor

Price is up to Justin, but it has been slightly re-designed with a 1/2 inch longer spike and a slightly down-turned head. The handle spike is now triangular, as I felt that there was potential for the forward curved spike to dig into ya', depending on how you're holding it. Thanks for the compliments, though!

Hello,

I'm looking for a robust tomahawk. What are the diferences between the Renegade Tomahawk and the Rogers' Rangers Tomahawk from ATC (quality, strongness, etc...)? Thank you.

I do not know the answer to your question Coupchoux, but you should start a new topic. Then ask the question in the new topic. You would have better luck having people see it and giving you the info you wanted. J.Davey I like the looks of your design. Can't wait to see the finished product. Make sure to post pics. Lots of them. :D

Mark

Glad you like the design that J.Davey and I came up with. It is in the process of a revamp right now and I have to say that most enjoyable work is not from production but helping those that want to see there dream hawks come to life. This one should be a great design and a live piece when it is finished. Hopefully I will be able to get the revised sketch up as soon as we work the bugs out of the final design. Thanks again all for the support.

Coupchoux

I am not sure but I think you emailed me earlier today. If there is any additional information that I can help you with just let me know.

Coupchoux

No need to apologize. It isn't that delicate and it pretty much boils down to personal preferance. Thanks again for your interest and as I said before if you have any additional questions feel free to shot me an email and I will do my best to get you squared away.

Hey, Justin, congrats on the TK right-up! I'm almost done with the tomahawk design. The other people on here who wanted a bigger cutting edge got me thinking. I will admit, I'm going the opposite of the "bearded axe" way of thought and leaning more towards the halberd design. I'm trying to come up with something that is a very tough all around edged tool (a long enough 'point' for penetration and knife-type duties when the handle is choked up on, heft and chopping ability of an axe, and the spike for..well, you know...also the handle spike for prying and piercing). I really want to try to come up with a tool/weapon that can cover many situations efficiently (and it really isn't very easy). I should have it to you by Monday. Oh yeah, Mark, thanks for the compliment! I have to say though, that 90% of that design is Justin's. I just tweaked a couple things to fit what I wanted. Unfortunately, I started to re-think it and began to further tweak. I'm sure Justin will tweak what I send him, and in the end we will have a good tool!
