Rapscallion, Who All Has Them?

Got the shipping confirmation earlier today. It says the Rapscallion should be here on Thursday! Excited to get this one.

Cool. I find the model very aesthetically pleasing and highly functional.

The Rapscallion showed up today, a day early! I absolutely love to grind on the blade. This thing is going to be one heck of a slicer. It is 1/8" but the way it is ground it seems thinner. I am not complaining at all though. I prefer the thinner steels.
Honestly the handle felt a little out of place in my hand at first. Could be because I have been carrying my EDC II, Lonestar, and Bushboot in a pretty steady rotation lately and really like the handles on those models. I could feel the handle shape steadily growing on my though. I put the knife down and came back to it an hour or so later. When I picked it up it just melted in to my hand. The swell in the grip really seems to lock the knife into place.
Anyways, a few pictures. I can't wait to get out and use this thing. The Forge knocked it out of the park with this one.

Sorry, the pictures are not the best. More to come later.

That a great looking Rapscallion. The Oatmeal is really starting to grow on me. I am curious to see how it weathers.

I've played with the Rapscallion here and there and really like it a lot. I love the attitude of the grind lines, I really like the handle to blade ratio, and I like the high handle which is a little bit like a bigger Toboggan with a longer blade and more intent. To me it has the good physical features of a small hand made butcher knife I carried years ago, but then re-profiled for better penetration, and sex appealed to the power of 10. I like the blade control a lot, and I like how the swell to the pommel wedges in the hand in pull cuts when slicing meat, even with greasy hands. I think it's one of my favorite pieces of highly functional art I have seen come out of the forge so far.

Cool thread, I love your pictures.:thumbup:

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them :)

I am interested to see how the oatmeal ages as well. The trinity pins really add a nice touch to the knife.

Yeah, I love the trinity pin-outs. I wish it stood out more on the red and black burlap handle on my Handyman, but it pops in the right light :)

I'm bringing this thread back to life. The unique shape of the Rapscallion blade is really growing on me. For those of you who also have the Sylverfalcen, would you mind providing some feedback as what you think about that knife as an EDC, or perhaps something to bring along on a hike?

I love my Sylverfalcen, is comes in right behind my Bushboot as my favorite Fiddleback to EDC. The handle fits my hand nicely and it has enough blade, and attitude, to do most any EDC chores.

I don't own a Falcen but I've been loaned one by Jerry. My thoughts on that model are in this post. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-3-1-2-quot-EDC-Share?p=17023669#post17023669

Cliff notes, the handle is super comfortable, but the blade shape isn't of my preferred type.

I really like the Rapscallion and Forager a lot. I have carried my Osage one a bit. I need to get a Forager. They are so light for a big knife. I like it.
