I entered into a trade with Cody Wilson (Raptor660) on Aug. 17th. I was
trading a BM 42 for two knives plus a MO for $95. I mailed the 42 on the 18th & he mailed his end the 18th. I got the box but no MO. I asked about it
& was told he sent the MO separate for security reasons. He didn't want them all to get damaged at once, but he assured me the MO was on the way.
I e-mailed him the 24th & asked him to e-mail me a copy of the receipt
showing when he bought the MO & the amount it was for. He e-mailed back
& said he didn't have the receipt anymore. Said he was going to call the PO
& see what was going on. He said somebody at the PO told him the MO was
not able to get sent. Said the quickest he could send another was Thurs.
the 27th. I told him if he got it in my hands by Monday (31st) I wouldn't
report this trade on the Good, Bad, & Ugly. I got back from being out of
town last night & see he had put the 42 up for trade. I e-mailed him &
said I wasn't real thrilled with him putting the 42 up for trade when he hadn't
even completed the trade for it. He asked if I wanted him to mail it back
since it didn't seem NIB to him. Said it had a few scratches on the blade &
a ripped spot in the sheath. I told him if it did it happened after he got it in
his hands & "No" I did not want it back. Keep in mind he posted it for trade
& said it is NIB. I have copied his post if he edits it & I have reported the
post for the record. I also have all the e-mails which I tried to copy
exactly but went off line trying to do it so I condensed this all down
the best I could. I will let you all draw your own conclusions. I have
learned not to ship at the same time with new people. Should have learned
that with Armyman9.

His profile is weak, I would be very wary of trading with him.

I would love to link to this thread in his trade thread... but that would be against the rules.

Hey Bob, it was good seeing you again at the show this past weekend, I made it to work just 58 minutes late after our chat :o It's really terrible how things have been going in the trade section. A few are going to ruin it for everyone.

Not sending the MO with the package was total bull and could have easily been folded up and ziplocked to keep it safe from water damage and other harm. I still hope that the mythical MO shows up, but that seems highly unlikely.

Take care and see ya soon, J.

More and more of this is happening. If these idiots who care little of their reputation and even care less of what to most here is our life's love then most of those with solid reps. will stop trading with members who cannot 100% validate their word is good prior to a knife or money being shipped until their end of the deal is in hand, inspected and rated good to go.

Come on, you are only as good as your word and some of you are looking like shiitbags..............

Wolfmann you hit the nail on the head. The two knives this guy traded me
are not worth near what the BM 42 is worth even if he scratched the blade
& threw the sheath away. I did not take the 42 back simply because I didn't
want him to burn anybody else. Forget the $95, I could have taken the 42 back & got more than I will ever get for the two knives that I got from him.
The $95 doesn't mean much to me but it might to somebody else & if
bringing this out in the open will help somebody else not get screwed then
it is worth it. Plus it will allow me not to wonder whether to ship to a new guy w/no feedback at the same time as he ships to me. So it is worth it to
me. But if he doesn't get banned I would like an explanation as to why he doesn't. It looks like Armyman9 got away with pulling a fast one on me but
since there is money involved this one shouldn't pass. Only my opinion &
sometimes I'm wrong but not very often, it comes with age I guess.

Friggin ridiculous. You sure seem to get some of the worst ones too.
Heard this too many times on this forum. I sent, he didn't, now it's up for sale. What crap.

What an A$$.I do not understand why these scumbags keep on doing this to the good people of this forum. We are going to have to tighten up on this as a whole. No feedback or reputation;ship or pay first. If not, then to HELL WITH YOU.Is that plain enough.Sorry mods but this crap is getting out of hand.

I had a trade with raptor660 about a week ago,in which I made him ship first, because of his post count, and the no feedback he had. The knife showed up and the trade went well. But I really hope he makes good on the 95$ with you, because it makes me look bad for leaving him positive feedback.

I really hope you man up and pay MR RRG.There's zero excuse for ripping people off,who ship things to you in good faith. How would you have liked that if I did that to you???

it does seem to be happening more & more, when i 1st got on BF back in '99 or so a rip off was a rare thing to happen, now its every day it seems like.

too bad,

Just wondering if there should be a sub forum inside of this one. Maybe separate the good and the bad into their own sections. It would be much easier to track down the history of someone who might not meet the criteria to be in the hall of shame yet but has had deal(s) end without satisfaction to the buyer.

It seems that there has been a lot of this lately. Really, what is so hard about understanding that a deal is not done until both parties are satisfied. It takes a lot of audacity to put an item up for trade/sale when the other party has not been made whole by a deal.

RRG I'm sorry that you are going through this. I know I am more cautious about doing business on forums with all the threads popping up lately like this one. It's sad really because there are a lot of good honest knife guys/gals here.

I do know that bad word of mouth travels much quicker than good. Just the nature of the beast. Back to my original thought. Perhaps having the good/bad divided up so that people can peruse easier instead of scrolling through pages of threads to try to find who to watch out for. There could even be a sticky thread at the top of the section with a list of names that could be updated of sellers/buyers who did not have a satisfactory outcome but might not rise to the level of shame.

I understand that running a board is a huge undertaking and this isn't a complaint, but a suggestion. I ran a board years ago that was not knife related but did have a for sale section. There was a yearly membership to people who wanted to use the sale section for buying and selling.

When a deal went bad like they sometimes do, we suspending the members ability to do business until the issue was resolved. There's a board function (with the vBulletin board I managed) to send someone to whats called Tachy Goes to Coventry. This automatically puts a member on everyone's ignore list.

I had quite a few deals get worked out after using this feature as people usually don't like being ignored. They were forced to go through the admin to request to be let out of coventry to make good on the deal.

Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Anyway, sorry for the long ramble, just hate to see threads like these with good people left unsatisfied.

I have to disagree about a sub-forum. if someone posts their opinion about a trade and the other party wishes to weigh in, there will be two sides of the story for others to form their own opinion should they consider dealing with one of the parties, or both.

However, when you have a situation such as this and the party agrieved posts about the alleged offending party and the alleged offending party is found lurking here or within BFC, among other knife forums and is actually trading/selling/dealing the knife and says nothing ,then it is not an issue of disatisfaction but an issue of integrity and credibility.

Of course we have the dissatisfaction due to:

Someone selling a knife and when the knife arrives it is not to your liking and you E-mail the party and the party immediately refunds the money, the story it does not belong here in GB&U. But, I sell you a knife and the knife arrives to you but payment does not arrive to me. Contact is made and you tell me that you got your testicles caught in your pool filter and will ship the MO in two days when your balls heal enough to waddle to the Post Office. A wek goes by and no payment and it takes me another week to get you to respond (eventhough you have lurked here on and off). You tell me that on the way to the Post Office you fainted and were rushed to the ER where they discovered you had a severe infection of the testicles and slipped into a coma BUT are now out of ICU and home and the MO is sitting in a stamped envelope ready to go to the PO. Another week goes by and no money order arrives. I E-mail you and you blame it on your wife who said she was going to handle it and you thought she was going to handle it. Then, all of a sudden your wife posts on BFC and says how sorry she was but you were so sick with a ball infection that she was preoccupied with the status of your balls and forgot to ship. She says how sorry she is and promises that the MO will go out in the AM. Three days later the wife posts again to advise that you relapsed and spent two days in the hospital but was now home and the MO would get in the mail ASAP. It's been two months since the ball-less guy had the knife had the knife but no balls healthy enough to mail the money. Many of the folks here rush toguy with infected balls aid and complain that several are too rough because the guys' been real sick. It gets to the point where you start to feel like a schmuck and say nothing more. Then, all of a sudden a MO arrives that is for 1/3 the amount owed but 2/3 short of the full amount . Then a week later it is discovered that the guy was never married and did not ever have a ball infection but some still feel that it should not have been aired here and the guy still deserves a chance to make this all good because he was sick.........

And it ends up here on GB&U but does it belongs on GB&U????

Or a sub-forum called "scammers, bullshitters, thieves and scumbags of 2009-2010"

I spoke with raptor660 yesterday, and he said to me that he would post here today and explain himself, and tell us how he was gonna make this right. So he does know this thread is here. But it being 9pm I highly doubt that it's gonna happen now.

But he then has time to come here,in the same sub forum today, and post his opinion about how bad yourconerstore is.
But some how he over looks this thread?? what gives Cody? grow some Balls and make this right!

I just think it's rather pathetic how you can come here continue to post on the boards about other peoples problems while ignoring your own problems in this thread. It's Not right!!,it's not even wrong!!

And on top of that, you haven't even paid Bob for the 42
and you have the thing up for trade. What is wrong with these people!!Theres No respect,No honor,No trust anymore! it makes me sick!

It's People like you that ruin it for the rest of us.How is this allowed to go on? YOU SHOULD BE BANNED! !!!!

Reading about all these people screwing members with great feedback out of money and knives. Makes me want to never trade with any new people, unless they ship first.
It's a shame because all get mistrusted just because of the actions of a few.

He's been well aware of this thread ever since I posted the link to it in his trade thread.

I know this because he sent me a whiney email complaining that I "had violated the rules and he was going to pursue it fully" very shortly after I posted said link...
