Rare Case Thread

Two blades.........one spring (I think?).........with sheepfoot............hummmmmmm. Case contacted for info....

Maybe this picture should be posted in the 2015 BF knife page.

Just saying.

Ha ha! Good plan!! I don't think they have made this pattern since ca. 1960.
I wonder if they'd make it for us??

Real nice B&G*, Rick!!
Very hard to find!!
They are mostly all used up!

*Budding and Grafting (and troll removal)

2245 Sh Sp

Fairly short years of production on this knife.

Introduced in 1962 (retail price $4.75)

Discontinued in April 1967.

That's why they are tough to find!

Sweet Jack, Mike!

Thanks for the info, cilohaefink!

I was several years off. Where do you find such detailed info??

Arathol, what is the model name and number for this one? I have seen one of these before and really like it!

Dean

6265 SAB folding hunter. That one is a CASE XX stamped knife, looks to be bone handles. Blades are CV. Case still makes it but only in stainless steel with jigged Pakkawood handles (at least thats the only one in their standard catalog line).

Thanks Cilohaefink! It's the SAB I was forgetting. The quality on the older bone version of this knife is what really attracts me. Some day I will run into one of these at a knife show. It's one of my grail knives, but I have to see it in person.

Here's an Elephant Ivory trapper. These are going to be real hard to get if the restrictive laws go through.

Nice knives!

This one is not necessarily a valuable knife, but it is something that is rare enough that I have not seen another -

I bought it new back in the 90s -

Wazu, the elephant ivory scales on your Case are classic (and beautiful)! mqqn, whatever wood is in those handles is gorgeous! OH

Not long ago I picked this pair up for less than 50 bucks, but even at that they were probably over priced.

Don't know if you mean less than $50 each or for the pair but either way; that's not overpriced for a knives meant to be collectables.
