Ok guys, yall have been very supportive of us throughout this ordeal and as the old saying goes, there are hunters, gardeners and miners...and we need miners right now.

We need any sales receipts, articles, photos, and other pertinent info relating to the following knife models designed and sold by Randall's Adventure & Training (RAT). Information must be written or completed before April, 2002 (the date our 5-year contract began with Ontario Knife Company).

We could use extra copies of the Tactical Knives magazine issue that had our Livesay made RTAK in it. I believe that issue was January 2000 and the article was written by Steven Dick. There was also an article in the old American Survival Guide. I believe that issue was February 2000. We also need any info you have on our skinning knife stamped RAT in the tang and built by John Greco. Tactical Knives magazine ran the knife in their hunting knives column. Also, any sales receipts where you bought the knife. Lastly, any sales receipts, articles, etc. on the Laser Strike built by TOPS.

As aside note, there were more articles but I can't remember when and where so please search all your magazines. We can also use active internet links to this information, paypal receipts, credit card receipts, checks, etc.

Please mail this info to:

Jeff Randall
60 Randall Rd.
Gallant, AL 35972

I will refund any postage to you...you have my word on that.

You may also email me with what info you have: jeff@ratcutlery.com

Also, you may post info here if you wish since this is not any type of confidential stuff. I know someone posted a photo recently (either here or on our Outdoor Forums site) of the old Greco RAT knife we did.

Now, for those who would like to see what all of this is about please see these links:

In a nutshell, Ontario applied for a trademark on the name RAT and the name RTAK on February 28, 2008 without letting us know. We are gathering the documentation at the request of a third party. We can prove commerce on both on these names prior (way prior) to April, 2002. But, as with any government agency requesting evidence, we need as much overwhelming evidence as we can get.

Thanks in advance and stay tuned since we plan to use you guys for more private investigation work as this thing proceeds! This is one area that we can really use your help.

Jeff

Jeff - so you know, only the middle two links are working. What a bunch of morons. I don't know what makes them think that they have any shred of claim to the name of your company, Jeff. They're the 4th (correct?) company to make knives for you, and somehow think they're entitled. I'm spreading the bad word as much as I can...

Thanks for that. As long as the middle two links work then that's all that's required to prove what we're saying.

Pay special notice to the day the trademark applications were filed by Ontario. February 28, 2008. Almost a full year AFTER our contract ran out in April, 2007.

kiahs,

Thanks for the link. The old Randall's Adventure & Training name and logo is showing proudly on that photo. ;)

This one's a little clearer, but not dated. There are a couple more scattered around his site.

Appreciate that. Looks like that photo will be more recent with the Ritter knife in it. No biggy though. TOPS should be able to provide all pertinent info and dates...besides we still have the articles also and our own sales records.

Thanks,

Jeff

This was posted by one of the guys here a few months ago:

...not quite. ;) John Greco's entry into the RAT line. This is going way back, prior to the Ontario days. One of my favorite hunting knives of all time.

Forgive picture quality, it's late and I didn't have the energy to do it right. :D

Also note that the RAT name on the TOPS knife was R.A.T. and the stamp on the Greco knife was simply RAT (Still have the stamp here), so we used both ways on knives prior to 2002.

Diceman, that photo is a slam dunk of what we need. RAT stamp showing through both on the sheath and knife. Good work! Who says RAT did not market knives under the name RAT before Ontario ;)

Good work!

PS: I still have the first RTAK ever made serial # 001 with Livesay Kydex square sheath. I'll get a photo made and post it up soon.

Jeff

BTW: I'm almost sure the sheath was made by John Greco's ex-wife Sherry (I think that's her name) and her company name was Green River Sheaths if I'm not mistaken. I still have invoices on this one in old tax files.

Awesome, bro. I can't remember the article since I haven't read it in a while.

It was written by Scott Stoddard, and has photo's giving you Jeff Randall photo credits from a South American trip.

It clearly refers to the knife as an "RTAK" and also clearly refers to your company as "Randall Adventure & Training"...RAT!

I have the Greco RAT article/photos which appeared in Tactical Knives. Will send it your way.

Thanks greens,

Exactly what we were looking for. Last Confederate sent me another PM and said he found another article that I had forgotten about that which will be a huge help as well.

BTW: Everyone has been asking me who the parent company of Ontario Knife Co. is so here's a link: http://www.servotronics.com/code-of-ethics.htm

greens, can you give me an issue date on that TK magazine with the Greco RAT in it? It will save me a lot of time going through all my old issues and requesting extra copies.

Thanks,

Jeff
