RAT Cutlery Warranty Info

I think the purpose of the RAT warranty is to tell people that, "Hey, our knives are second to none in quality. We guarantee it will get the job done for years to come or you'll get a new one should it break no matter the circumstance. Just tell us what happened." Too easy.

The RAT warranty is the reason why there's a RAT in my bag!

Two in mine, and one in my pocket! :D There are many reasons why I carry a RAT, but actually the guarantee is the last thing on that list. The designs, the execution, and the integrity of the men behind the blades all come first in my book. Keep up the great work, guys! :)

FortyTwo, the designs, execution, and integrity of Jeff and Mike = the guarantee! But you're right. Their philosophy/integrity makes you want to be on their team.

Oh, indeed! But I mean it to say that the guarantee itself is far from my primary draw to the knives. I'd be just as big a RAT fan if they had a more standard policy--it's just even cooler that they do have it! ;):thumbup:

I really value the knowledge that a piece of equipment is as dependable as is physically possible---which means there is still a limit. The fact that you guys have so much faith in your pieces and provide a warranty reflecting that faith is absolutely awesome, although the fact that there are aholes who will take advantage must make it challenging. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to get a hold of one of your knives (and I'll also give an address-less replacement a good home if you need a place to send it:)). Incidentally, love him or hate him, I was pleased to see the RC-4 perform really well on knifetests.com (and hopefully he didn't ask you for a replacement)

Jeff
Did he ask for a replacement? Or was that more of a "thanks for the advertising" replacement? I hope it was the latter and not the former.

Although the knifetests.com tests may be crazy, they are fun as hell to watch, and when a knife performace is solidl under that kind of abuse it is a true testament to the quality of the knife design and manufacturer. Seeing is believing and that usually equals SALES!!

It's not the warranty, it's the product. Like Tommy Boy said:

"Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I've got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me."
