RAT Fire Kit

Great news. Any idea on timing at this point? When can I get my sweaty palms on one?
 
great idea, now make the RC knife kydex sheaths with a place for it. Make it stay in tight. Really cool.

This may be naïve but please make sure the diameter is the "standard" Fire Steel size (if there is such a thing) so it will fit in other manufacturers sheaths. I don't own a Fire Starter yet but this looks like the one I'd buy.
 
I don't think it will fit in other sheaths because of the aluminum capsule.
I personally would carry it on my neck kit.
 
Excellent idea! Having a large(r) ferro rod instead of the magnesium might be the best, or having the option of both, two different models. Along with an Izula, I can't think of a more light-weight bit of survival kit that could do so much when you needed it the most.
