Rat Izula folder knife (awesome)

1095 for a folder? I sure as hell hope not.

If its D2, or anything semi-rust resistant I will pick one up

Because it's a work in progress. They aren't going to release it until everything is just right, and it requires a LOT of work and resources to make a folder. Word has it that Rowen will be doing them, and they aren't set up for folders just yet. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though. ;):thumbup:
 
I think that the proto was pretty spectacular. Would've bought one (or two) in a heartbeat... :D

I'd rather they waited a while before they posted the picture though - makes me anxious to the point where I lost interest and lost track of the progress, if any. I love the old picture design though. Bring it on if it's going to happen ;)
 
Don't forget that thats a computer drawing not an actual prototype.

The ESEE 3 folder prototype was pretty awesome, too. Definitely would have bought one of those - it's a shame they didn't see production.

They're still looking for someone to work with to have those made. The deal with LionSteel fell through.

Thank you for re-posting that pic. The image reminds me why I am saving my money and not buying another similar folder (whichever happens to strike my interest on a given week). It keeps me in check so as not to piss-off my spouse ;)
 
They looked good but didn't work well. The angle was way off on the lock they would close on a harsh look. Just look at all the issues DPX has had with the hest folder and be thankful LionSteel isn't making the ESEE folder.

Hmm that's odd. I have a LionSteel SR1 and I've never had a problem. Wonder what changed?
 
No idea, it was a prototype. But with the hest folder the angle of the base of the blade didn't work well with the end of the lock bar. The prototype had the exact same problem only even worse than the hest. You literally could just blink at it and it would fold up the lock was pretty much worthless. I played with one for a day at a campout and was really glad that they were not going to use it.
