Joel it was real fun having you and your friends in the class you all did a fine job and I think I will offer a shop rat class very soon thanks again. All but two of the intro class knives
I saw the pics of this knife and thought what a great little project, I need to make one of those. This weekend I had a forging demo at my in-laws ranch in a little town called Stevinson in California's central valley. The venue was the Heartland conference. It's a gathering of farmers, mostly organic, and granola munchers who love anything handmade. I forged an integral for my demo but when I was done forged this little guy or more correctly gal, notice the split tail. The guys that were standing around got a big kick out of the additional detail under the tail. Dave, thanks for the great idea on a cool little knife. This wont be the last time I forge one of these.
Those are way cool little knives and definitely the type of knife I would buy / have bought in the past. I love fancy damascus / ivory / engraving, but I love "as basic as you can get" just as well. That was an enjoyable little WIP.
Congrats Mike Quesenberry you just won a D Lisch Shop Rat Nice Job send me your address I will get it in the mail to you. Roger if you do make it to blade I will have 4 or 5 on my table I may even have a damascus shop Rat just for fun. Well Mike got the give away knife but do not let that stop you from making a shop Rat and showing it on this thread. thanks
