Rat7 or Bk7?

If you had your pick, which one would you choose?

The only experience that I had with is the Rat-7, so naturally I would pick it. Though, alot of people would pick BK-7 over the Rat-7. From what I get on both of them they are both good for camp chores.

I prefer the handle and blade design of the RAT-7 more.

Either should work fine, comes down to the minor differences, you have to decide which are most important.

I own a Rat-3 and a Rtak-II and they're great knives...but I would like to get a Bk-7 and a Bk-10. Eighter way you wont loose!!!

They were available from Camillus. No More for obvious reasons. They are the handles from the BK77 (S30V model).

I wouldgo with the Becker, & I have both, but first look at Ranger knives RD7, A much better knife for the money & the garantee & customer service cant be beat!

A big :thumbup: on the Ranger RD7, and I also own both the RAT7 and the Becker BK7. If you could buy a BK7 for what they sold for originally, they are pretty hard to beat for the price, but if you have to pay $80 plus dollars for one (and you will now) you would be cheating yourself by not checking the Ranger knives out. http://www.rangerknives.com/Knives/index.html

Got it in one. :thumbup: Very different handles. Of the two you specified, the Rat-7 fits MY hand better (closer to the handle on the RD-7).

Wonder how the 5160 in the Ranger compares with the 1095 in the RAT.

Typically rolleyes, 5160 should have the edge in impact resistance and 1095 should have the, ahem, edge in abrasion resistance.

Also, as I undrstand it, 5160 it less likely to get pits from rusting vs. 1095. That is a factor that makes 5160 suitable for vehicle springs.
