Rate Your ESEE's

What a great cross section of responses. I guess the favourite depends on your style of usage. As a SAR operator I have to balance total dependability, soul survivability and weight. With that being said here is my list:

1. ESEE 4
2. ESEE 3
3. ESEE 6

Great thread.

Cheers

Most favorite in order huh? I'll try

RC4P
Junglas
RC6P
RC3PMDT
Izula
RC5P
Dpx Hest

Most used at home/city = 3 DT
Most used in the bush = 4 & Junglas

NB: above order may vary depending on my mood and tactical needs at the time :D

My Rat Pack Knife is #1 even though it gets used the least currently.
Next is the ESEE-3MIL. This knife actually gets used the most. I dig this for an all around camp knife
Lastly (yeah it's sad) is my Izula. Don't get me wrong I love this knife but have not developed a way to truly EDC as per my plan.

I like my RC-5 the best as its unique in my knife collection. Next in the line up would be my RC-3 which I use a heck of a lot, followed closely by the RC-4 as I have several other brand knives in that size range that I use.

I got some new ESEE products so I'm revision my list. - no. 1

For me,

1) ESEE Junglas Laserna Pack
2) ESEE-5
3) ESEE Recovery Bag
4) ESEE Izula
5) ESEE Junglas
6) ESEE Lite Machete

Sort of drunk, so.. :p

Since starting this thread and receiving my Junglas this weekend I need to tweek my rankings in terms of favorites slightly.

1) ESEE-5

2) Junglas

3) Izula

4) ESEE-3MIL

5) ESEE-4

6) ESEE-6

Honestly, it's darn near a tie between the ESEE-5 and the Junglas for #1 for me.

To rate is like picking a favorite child,I just couldn't pit my ESEE's against each other
could you imagine the dissension someone would get cut and that someone would be me!
I couldn't make it without any of them.
they are all #1 equal with different strong points!

What size I take is relative to the situation at hand. But...all of my ESEE knives are among my favorites in their chosen size ranges. My Izulas, HESTs, and RC-3s get the most use. With the HESTs getting the most use of all of them.

Can I ask - seems the esee 6 doesn't show up much in this thread - sort of off topic, but what was the reason for choosing the esee 4 or 5 over the 6?

1 3mil my all around slicer/user and carried most days (replaced my rat pack knife user)
2 Izula worn as a neck knife sees a lot of use at work
3Lite machete most comfortable machete I own and great brush clearer
4HEST Tank of a knife in a small package w/ awesome functionality
5RC4 used on hikes can slice and baton
6 3clip like the secondary edge but not enough to give up my 3mil

Just my 2cents but......... I can do just about everything with my 4 that my 6 will do, in a smaller lighter package. If I need a larger chopper the Junglas is heads and shoulders above the 6, as it should be simply based on size. The reason i rated the 5 higher is I can sort of replace both the 6 and my Junglas with the 5. Doesnt do anything better than either, but is a awesome compromise between the two.
Now that being said we are nit picking the differences between them. Give me any 4, 5 or 6 and send me to the woods and i wont feel like I am under knifed in the least bit. Awesome products at a great price

Well said. Thanks.

I just got an Esee-5 (my first & only Esee) & I must say it's the nicest knife I've ever seen! I'll be buying more soon, so for now this is #1! :)
