new to this order system. do we generally get a heads-up before the ganza ends or is it sudden lights out?

Follow Eric's directions in the first post. He will email you with an order confirmation and an estimated delivery date when he receives your order.

When he gets the knives in, he will send another email with your total $ amount owed and you can go to the website and pay.

yup, i've got a pre-order in now. i'm thinking about adding to it but wondering whether we get a warning before the ganza ends. kind of getting greedy for more. thanks in advance to anybody who knows.

^^^^^^^^these opportunities do NOT come along very often. I would certainly suggest that you should get what you want now at the factory price. ;)

I'm on a DOD computer and can't see the pics, are the Warden cord wraped or scaled?
Thanks

neither, they are the skeleton warden's. there is a large cut out in the middle of them. kinda like the rat izula.

gotta27 type's pretty fast.

eric roughly how much is shipping? do ya'll use flat rate boxes?

Yep, followed the advice and just ordered another 3 - 6 in total - just need sheaths now!

Generally speaking Rat's over 6" in blade length are differentially tempered. The only exception I can think of is the black/tan BR which was through hardened.
M6 was differentially tempered.
It should be mentioned that the production version of the Scrap Yard Regulator/Deregulator is also through-hardened. The Reg/Dereg is made of the same primary steel Swamp Rat uses in its blades . . . SR101. The knife is sabre-ground, 1/3" thick, and has a 7.5" long blade.

Why do I mention that here? Because other than their logos, the only differences I can tell between Swamp Rat SR101 knives and Scrap Yard SR101 knives are the handle materials they use and their tang construction. Swamp Rat uses Micarta/G10 handles and full tangs while Scrap Yard uses Res-C handles and cut-down tangs.

I'm still not sure why you mentioned it here. My post was in regards to the Swamp Rat knives, not Scrapyard knives, of which I no nothing about. I can't even name what their knives are. They are great knives but have nothing to do with this thread or this forum. I prefer if you keep discussions of their knives to their forums to minimize confusion

Eric

No problem, Eric. Just so you know, Dan encourages discussions of Scrap Yard, Swamp Rat and Busse Combat knives on his forum. In fact, there's an active conversation taking place right now on the Scrap Yard forum regarding the fact that you've got HRLMs, RMDs and Swamp Wardens for sale. Before that we openly discussed Wakis, M9's, Chopweilers, and other Swamp Rat knives and will undoubtedly continue to do so. We've talked about many Busse Combat knives as well. The only thing Dan discourages is discussions of knives outside the Busse family of companies. Under the circumstances, I thought supporting each other was an unspoken understanding among the three Bussekin companies. Please accept my apology. Apparently I was mistaken.

I won't mention Scrap Yard knives again on this forum.

dojomatic, welcome to the mischief!

You're starting out with some awesome blades. Picked up a RMD and a SW myself this time around.:D

Now the tough part comes, the wait.... it can be agonizing but it's always worth it.

Ordered all 3 last week.

Sheaths will be coming.

I still have my Rat Warden so those are available now :D

Ok, now I'm confused... The last I heard, ScrapYard knives were SR77 steel (unless otherwise stated), and Swamp Rat knives are SR101 steel (unless otherwise stated). That's a fairly large difference between the two... Did I miss a memo on this??

Besides, shouldn't Dogs be discussing Dogs on their Forum and Rats be discussing Rats on this Forum... And if you're a RatDog, then shouldn't you be hangin' with Bob Weir & playing music??? ...Man, I AM confused!!! :D

I don't discourage the discussion, but now my Pre-order thread has turned into a discussion that it wasn't meant to be and it will now be confusing to those new to the knives that came to see this thread.

Discuss them in the forum, just not in my pre-order thread.
