So, interesting thing happened when I installed my Sagewood dangler, it basically cleared up the rattle in my Field Knife sheath.

I don't know how this works exactly. I wonder if the thin kydex used in the sheath allows a slight curvature of the sheath after the install of the dangler? Retention is still great, makes a very positive click.

On a side note, I like to carry my danglers a little bit closer to 4:30, not right at 3 o'clock. Just on the side of Gluteus maximus. This one fits perfect. So I was kinda thinking the dangler and stock sheath would be OK till my Sagewood belt sheath came, but now I am actually quite happy with the stock sheath and dangler combo, think it is quite serviceable and will definitely keep it as a backup or to go around the yard and garden etc when the Sagewood shows up. I think I will pick up another just to have it around.

There is a little bit of interference between the adapter and the sheath. This pushes the handle of the knife away from the adapter, so if you rock a 3 o'clock the handle might stick out too far for you.

For me, it's perfect.

Thank you Brian for making a product that improves the stock sheath so dramatically.

Same experience here with the Sagewood Dangler (size S) I received a few days ago. Zero rattle and great retention which bolstered my confidence by 100 fold in carrying this exquisitely made knife in its kydex sheath.

Justin, as always thank you for the write up.

I own a lot of kydex sheaths. When you installed your danglers, they are pushing down on the last rivets tightening up the mouth of the sheath where your blade "clicks in". That's usually where any play is, so it stops the rattle and holds more firmly. If the sheath is very tight, it can have the opposite effect, and you can't get the knife in the sheath.

Ooh more pix... Now I can't wait to get my FK when Nathan gets back! :D

Yes, a very assuring click. I was wondering if I had tightened it too much but no scratches on the steel and no issues drawing out the FK. I don't need to fight it.

I used the spacers and hardware from the original clip so your dangler is not tilted , but I still have some rattle .

I only used a spec ops sheath with my FK proto and it was fine but I am loving the kydex sheath they come with now. Nice and minimalist with great retention

Casino , I am using the Sagewood dangler .

Using the spacer and hardware from original belt attachment mounts the dangler parallel to the knife

Justin let's see the Sagewood belt sheath , I am still wanting to get one , once my 5.1 sells .

Any rattle?
sure there's some movement but it doesn't bother me in the least. It would probably have less if it didn't have the easy clean feature but for me, easy maintenance trumps the ability to sneak past the sentries 😜

Another option:

These pics are from Hard Knocks. i sent him a little kydex bridge with hole-spacing for the FK sheath:

Hi Peter,

It looks like the UKE is going to match up good on the field knife with the added piece to bridge the gap. The one problem I found is that the high attachment binds some against the flare of the kydex for the handle. It's not horrible, but it does cant out the UKE a bit.

I think my preferred mount for this model would be with the UKE centered in the bridge. The dangler should still be plenty high, and of course you can shorten the dangler or go with the clip for a higher ride. Here's what I've got, let me know if you need more.

I'll add that with the UKE, you can use a Tek-lok (large or small), G-clip, Molle-lok, etc. and mount vertical, horizontal, angled, etc. Also, if you feel that it sticks out too far from the sheath, I have a fix for that!! The rubber washers included with the UKE act in part as spacers but mostly as traction for the angle-adjustment on the UKE. You can replace them with thinner rubber, for example I use belts from vacuum-cleaners when i want the UKE to sit closer to a sheath.

That's greeeaaattt Chiral. Now I need to obtain one of your kydex bridges to have your UKE 2.0 option for my FK in addition to the Sagewood dangler.

I'll knock a few out this week for mailing to folk, along with some of the vacuum-belt washer/spacers ;) I can mail that much in a stamped envelope. But if you note HK's preferred mounting, there is more/different attachment hardware in play - the screws/pillars joining everything are four (4) short ones, the size included with the belt-clip and the previous bridge. I'm not sure that the PO allows letters with those inside, plus they cost ~$1 per screw/pillar pair...

for those curious, my sig-line includes a sale thread on the UKE which costs $15 base +shipping. Adding the hardware will increase the price to $18 +shipping... i guess that's not so bad, considering that the sagewood dangler costs ~$30.

I think if you place them inside a little zipper pocket then in a folded piece of paper inside a regular size 1st-class envelop, it'd be OK with just one of those Forever Stamps 9First-Class stamps). So what's the total for just the bridge to PP you?

Just the bridge? Pshaw, if that's all you want then it is going in the mail tomorrow, Casino!

Hawt dayum HK has a sexy 70's couch.

Chiral, thanks for your excellent attention to detail. Very good. I'm confident most people can find a solution here.
