Rattling FK sheath and Sagewood Dangler

holy shit is that badass!!!

Nice setup Don

Did you request the slot from Eric for the LC sheath? This makes me think an EDC piggybacked to an LC would be ideal.

Thanks HK.

Yes, I requested for the slots on the LC sheath. I always request for them on a blade which is longer than 6". I finds the blade flipping around too much on the drop loop when it is greater than 6". The slots are not easy to add after the sheath is done so it's better to have it made first and decide if you like to use it later.

That look good Don. I like it. Is ti starting to get to the point it is too heavy or still good to go?

Thanks Justin.

The whole package weights about 2.4 lbs. I feel it still very manageable. The leg strap helps a lot. You will hardly feel it on your leg. It's proven [emoji16] My baby gal had a messy poo after I took that picture of the piggyback sheath. I bathed and clean her with it strapped to my leg as I did not get the chance to take it off lol

BTW, if you decided to get Eric Lind from Mashed Cat to make a sheath for your FK, can you pls give me a shout? I like to get one for mine too.

Thanks!

Don,

coiledwire is leading the charge on this one as I have quite a few irons in the fire right now. Too many actually. CW also has a FK he could send I believe. He said it would be October before they had time I believe.

Cool! I have a few knives heading to Eric. I hope I can catch one of the waves.

Cheers!

Justin's right; I contacted mashed cat. Originally I was told October, but that recently got pulled in to checking back at end of August. I have a FK I can volunteer to send as a template, so if Eric has the time we can make it happen.

I'll post back here when I know more. Stay tuned.

Waaaaayyyyyy back to the original post: is that the small sagewood dangler? And it works with a GSO 4.7 as well?

Just want to confirm before I order one up. I just got my FK, and have a 4.7 in the mail, so I'd like to figure out a nice dangley-wangly solution for both, as my copious midriff does interfere with any kind of vertical high-carry being comfortable.

On a side-note, the current-spec FK sheath is awesome. Better put together than any other kydex unit I've used, other than maybe an azwelke — and it actually has less rattle than my azwelke bk9 sheath (thought that might be down to me stripping the coating off of the bk9 and using the kabar micarta scales). Super precisely cut and formed, and it's surprisingly compact. I'm impressed.

Love how similar the carry arrangement via the square plate attachment and the spacers (are those chunks of fuel-injection hose, by the way?) is to the Winkler belt knife sheaths. It'll be great for horizontal carry or shoulder strap attachment.

Sagewood small danger fits the FK best, but the medium works as well, just a little bit more sticking out from the sides. Off the top of my head I think the medium is 1/2" wider.

Couldn't tell you the exact hose, but almost everyone uses a variety of bulk automotive hose.
