Cool pics - thanks for sharing. That area is one of my haunts.

If you go past the trail head and stay on the forest service road, you can park at the first creek that crosses the road. Go off to the right and follow the creek upstream and there is a nice waterfall. Also a trail that goes up above the falls on the right side has a pool above the falls you can soak in on a hot summer day.

If you follow the service road all the way to the end it dead ends, takes about 30 minutes. It is one of the most remote areas in north Georgia you can drive to from what I can gather from google earth. Was there a couple of weeks ago, four-wheel-drive at the end is just about a must as much rain as we have gotten. If I would have done that fire class I offered it probably would have been there.

Very nice! Why were you at home?

Works real slow and has been for a bit. Should pick up with the seasonal change like usual but with this economy...

We canceled today on account of all the rain yesterday making the mountainside a giant slip and slide. Usually we just make do with that kind of thing but without a full week might as well work on the dry days:rolleyes:

We gotta carry a bunch of lumber and concrete down there, so we figured we'll let it dry up a bit, since theres no rush. Weve only got 1 or 2 days worth to do till next week when i think Im off to S.C. for a job weve been waiting patiently on. Should be a couple fat weeks worth or so and good medicine for my whole little crew.

So off to the woods i was:thumbup:;)

You welcome! Ive always wondered if theres any uncrowded camping up that road. One day I WILL have 4wheel drive:o:D

You lucky devil! I wish my painting and landscaping side business would explode with enough work to quit my sales job. I hope you get lots of work! What do you do?

Build decks in the mountains.:D:D:D And columns and ceiling beams and all sorts of carpentry. Its a pretty sweet job really.....except for the days we have to pour 200 bags of concrete for footers.....and the whole walking around on scaffolding 60-70 feet in the air can get to you if you let it. ....and the 9* days on the side of some mountain......trying to feel your fingers:D:D:D

Great pictures Runsalone! I'm GA bound after a little trip to Afghanistan...we're planning on being back in Augusta for Christmas. We did a bunch of camping and backpacking on the east side in the mountains. I really want get up to the Helen part of the Chattahoochee...I'll bring my 4x4:D

Our first backpacking trip was Panther Creek (there's a kitchen sink in my pack:eek:):
