After moving here to the Central Valley in CA, I had the pleasure of meeting Ray in person. Ray is a very talanted knife maker and a great person. He has even brought his truck and helped me move some large equipment into my shop. When you get two knifemakers together there is alot of talk about knives, and the good people of W&SS. Somewhere in these conversations, we deceided to build a knife together. I will forge, Ray will grind, then I will heat treat, and Ray will finsh grind and handle the project. I will finish it out with a leather sheath.
Here is where you at W&SS are involved. You can design the knife! Submit some designs, and Ray and myself will pick a winner and build the knife! I think we have all seen designs that we don't care for, so here is your chance to design a cool knife. When you submit your design, also submit a name for your design. We will post photos as the build proceeds. Best of luck!

Really neat idea, gonna be lots of hungry knife fiends for this one. Deadline for the design?

Holy crap. This will be good.

I will start brainstorming.

Marks wizardry with the steel, and Rays perfection of F&F will no doubt be a great thing. I AM STOKED! :D

Guys seriously, Ive owned blades by both these guys, and we are in for a treat.

right on Mark.. this should be cool...

looking forward to getting together with you one of these days...:)

This will be very interesting!!!!!!!

Mr. Wohlend, I just came into posession of 1 of your knives and I am very impressed.
No matter which lucky designer gets his or her knife made, it is sure to be great.

I'm excited too. This will be a lot of fun so get to work on those designs.

I was at Mark's shop today "learning how to grind" on his brand new top of the line KMG. That's a nice machine!

I really like the two you made me:thumbup:

Great design Pit. I think that would look really cool with a forged finish on the flats and satin scotchbrite on the bevel.

Let's see some more ideas guys!!

Here's another idea.

Its down as a scandi, but a flat grind will work also.

The contours in the handle look too abrupt in the pic. Thats is not what I wanted. I like a more smooth transition, but I aint drawing it again....
