My first try at a knife design.:o

No scanner so a photo of my drawing will have to do.

Thanks for the awesome chance ! It's exciting to see how two makers who I consider to have very different styles work together !!!
Here is my entry:

Damn I like this one. I know the scandi grind, bushcraft carving type stuff is in vogue at the present, but this looks like a tool for the kind of outdoors stuff I do. Looks like it could handle setting up camp, processing game, and food or fire prep. You could do a lot with something like that. Nice Pit.

I like that Todd ,it would look good with stag scales:thumbup:.

Thanks. I have always liked the short, tapered tang bowies from the 1890's-early 1900's.

I just shrank the blade a little, gave it a half guard. Was inspired by a well used-up New York Knife Co I own with great jigged bone scales.

Cheers buddy, I tried to draw a knife that I would get lots of use from and for me a knife such as this would get more use when camping and bumming around the woods than any other type !;)

I just got in a large shipment of steel. Help me and Ray put it to good use. The designs and names look good so far. Besides, Ray thinks I just collect knife making tools. He is not sure that I actually build knives! LOL I need to prove to him I actually do build a knife once a year!

Let's put this back up in case anyone missed it and wants to submit a design. We'll be picking one out in a few days and begin working on it. Thanks to all who gave a design and if anyone else wants to, that would be great!

Yeah not quiet I know, but when I saw your sketch I couldn't help myself.
If it reads a bit heavy it is I wanted something I could hand to a 16yr old cadet and they would really have to try to break.
Made by me with lots of help from Stewart Townsend.

Mora for scale.

P.S. I do like pitdogs design. Something I never see on American knives is a billy notch. One of those cultural things I guess.

Some great designs so far, does the person who designs the winning one get a free one made for him/her ?
Be cool to see the winner post a review of their design !!!

This is to cool looking. Looks like the Canadian Belt Knife and one of Koster's Nessie's got together and had a bastard child. Really like the continuous curve on that blade edge, if it was wide enough it could be used as a Ulu.
