I received my framelock folder from Ray today. I saw this almost exact model in one of his "first framelock" posts. I asked him if he could do the same knife in a 3.5" blade and add a swedge. Below you see the result.

I've got some great knives and there's a few I don't have anymore that are great. I've got a new category for myself, knife-for-life as in a knife I'm keeping forever as it meets and/or exceeds all my expectations. DDR, RJ Martin, CRK, and now Ray are in that category.

Crazy clean lines, tight tolerances, smooth (sebenza smooth) opening, best in class lock up as far as I'm concerned, impeccable fit and finish, centered blade, and I'd say perfect grinds.

Ray has also been super helpful and very communicative through the whole process and the turn around was pretty amazing for a custom.

Home run. If you need a framelock and want to avoid the production models, get in touch. His stuff doesn't last on the XC for very good reason.

I hate gushing but g*dd*mn this is a good knife.

Congrats that's a very nice looking knife. Is that clear g10 on the left side of the frame?

wow, that knife is beautiful

what is the blade steel?

is the handle G10 and aluminum or titanium?

It is G10 and titanium.

I have handled quite a few of Ray's knives. They are all top notch work. His blade grinds are perfect.

Very nice:thumbup:

I have a custom coming up with the same scale color.

I especially like the orange peel finish on the titanium.

But, I do not see a swedge, unless my interpretation of one is incorrect. The spine of the blade looks completely flat. I don't see a non-sharpened false edge, which is my definition of a swedge.

Ditto.........but still an awesome knife.
I like that term "knife for life".

I love the grind on that knife. Simple, but very elegant.

Any shots of the lock bar with the blade open? I wanted to see the lockbar thickness.

The only reason I haven't got a Ray Laconio is because someone in customs would pinch it. If I ever go to the states, Ray can expect a call from me :D

love it....but where is the swedge?
Good point - These are Rays pics that he took prior to adding the swedge, I'll grab another shot and post it. It's subtle, but sets the knife off perfectly in my opinion.

Blade steel is 154CM, titanium on one side, g10 on the other.
Nice one Mike. Can't wait to check it out.

Hell yeah, Thursday...I had to head to Redmond today... You should just order one dude ;)
