Unfortunately I'm unable to provide the eye candy, but I have a craving for a compendium of photos of Raymond's work, so...
Please, any one have any?

Unfortunately I only have one (but it's a GREAT one!)

It's a monster blade (about 12" if I remember correctly) but it's super light and fast (see the taper of the spine in the last pic.)

Ray's work is top shelf, and he's a SUPER guy as well

That´s gonna look nice with stag, as usual!

One thing I always wanted to ask you Ray... how do you finish your iron guards and fittings? Do you use some sort of acid?

Whoah! Great link, Raymond:thumbup:

Here is a spike hawk Ray did. A real Beauty. Have another I will post later.

Found the other one, another true Beauty. You cant go wrong with Rays work or him as a person . Great guy, a pleasure to work with... There are a couple more pieces I would like to purchase from him a knife and one of his pipe hawks... All the Best !!

Jeff, I couldn't find a piece of stag on hand that would work. There's a couple more piles I need to look in. :D Right now I've got the guard and a piece of zebrawood slotted and I'm ready to start shaping the handle. I'm running the zebrawood on a bias. Not sure how that will turn out. I'll see when its done. As for the iron guards I use to etch them but lately its more texture along with heat and then steel wool or wire brush.

Hey Dusty.....

Cool... you mean hammer texture? And wire brush and steel wool by hand or power? I like the style a lot and would like to give it a try.

Zebrawood would be nice too!

ok ray....where's that pic of jumbo...possibly the most wicked knife ever!......ryan

ray are any of your knives take down.....or is the little doo dads on the butt deorative....alot of them look like there is a little nut or something on the butt....that's why i ask.....ryan

After about 10 to 12 hours in the shop here's what I ended up with
IMG_0601.JPG

Unless I lose the knife it should be finished tomorrow.

Ryan, All my knives are basically take down knives until they are epoxied. I use the nut with the ring to hold things together while I'm fitting the knife together. After I have epoxied the handle and its set up for several hours I'll remove the nut and peen the tang.

Jeff, the texture I do is with a rotary tool and a carbide burr done very lightly. Steel wooling is done by hand. Wire brush I use is the real fine type that work on a rotary tool.

I like that one a lot Ray

A bit "brighter" than your usual work, but i think it's quite nice. Are you going to leave the wood as is, or will you stain/darken it?

Eli, I'm going to leave the blade bright on this one. As usual even though I called it quits for the shop I ended up going back out. I colored both the fittings and the handle. I hope to get a finished picture of this knife before this day is over.
