Raymond Richard eye candy

I finally have a Ray Richard knife to call my own! Well, maybe it's not quite a knife yet, but truth be told, this little chunk of whomped steel could live out the rest of my days as is and I'd be happy to call it mine for all that time:)

Lorien,

What are your plans for that one --- I assume you will finish it yourself?

Congrats bud, I hope to get my hands on something forge finished from Ray someday :)

bumping an old favorite thread of mine, primarily because I was able to score a forge finished knife from Ray in Arkansas last week.

I've watched him work with a hammer, and believe me, it's quite the treat. As a bonus, this one came with one of his new style sheaths, which are stellar in their own right.

If you see this Ray, thanks again!

great knife Eli! I love the direction that Ray's taking.

here's what came of that blank;

I sent er back home when I was done.

That turned out really well Lorien, you should be proud of that one. Maybe one of these days I'll develop the skills for a "collaborative" effort with Ray!

Eli, I am really proud of that knife. I see it more as an 'art project', with Ray supplying the blade and no expectations of what would become of it. I'm proud of this knife because I learned a lot from it. You should get your hands on a blank if you haven't already, I think Ray's got a few kicking around.

I'd forgot about this old thread kicking around. Eli I'm glad to hear you happy with your strange knife and sheath!

Mark, I'm planing on you adding something new from me in Eugene.

Lorien, Thanks for starting this thread several years ago although I've never felt like a candyman......... :D

Ray,
Your knives fit into a couple niches that I really like.
Daggers and forged to shape blades.

This thread was kind of fun to see some of the different styles of your knives.
But I like the forge finish blades and the unusual sheaths the best of all.

I never knew about this thread. Although most of the photo links no longer work, it is ALWAYS good to see ANY of Grandpa RR's work!!!!!!!!!!!
