Razor edge book, guides and hones passaround

John,

If you haven't sent it yet, and can bump me another spot down the list (below The Bad Guy), I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Mike

poboy,
It's in the mail and headed your way :)

Sorry guys for taking so long to get this passaround going.

Have a great weekend!

pahl

I didn't know I was first until just now. I'll let you guys know how it helps me. I've been able to get a good sharp edge on my knives, but not one that really shaves easily. So I hope this gets me over that hump.

Okay, I got the book and sharpening system on Wednesday. It is now Monday. I have read some of the book, but haven't tried out the sharpeners yet. I will get a good chance to get it all done tomorrow. Then get it shipped out on Wednesday. I'll post some (hopefully) good stuff then. Sorry if I kept it for longer than I was supposed to, I had some time-management problems.:D My wife yells at me for that all the time.

Okay guys. I had this thing forever. Sorry about that. I got to use the system, and had pretty good results. My results were actually pretty comparable to what I get with my Lansky system. Sharp enought to cut very well, sharp enought to scrape some hair off of my arm, but not sharp enough to easily shave with. I may not have been patient enough when grinding the relief that he talks about, so this may explain my inability to get that hair popping edge. The knife that I sharpened with this system was a River Rat knife by Larry Ramey. It is ATS-34. I could almost shave with it before I started to shrpen it. When I was done, it shaves(or scrapes) hair about the same, but it seems to cut(at least cardboard) much more aggressively. The edge bevel is definitely more acute, so this may be the reason. I think this system definitely has promise. I think with more time to use it I could get a lot better results than what I got this time. I just kept running into things that didn't allow me time to use it. I hope someone with a little more sharpening experience uses this and can give a review from a more experienced stand point. Anyway, I may have to invest in this system. I do think that it works, and the trouble I had was probably caused by operator error. Thanks, pahl, for letting me in on this pass-around and thanks for being patient with me everyone. Evolute, the system is in the mail as we speak.

Please add me to the list for this pass-around.
I sent you an e-mail with my home address.

Thanks,

Al

I have already E-mailed Evolute and asked that he skip my name on the list, I know its not professional, But I just bought a Sharpening system not more than a week or two ago and I am afraid I might have problems affording shipping when It came my way, So I rather it pass by me than have allot of people mad at me for keeping it forever. Sorry and I hope this doesn't inconvience anyone. :(

No problem :)
Sounds like your sharpmaker is working very well for you.

Thanks,

Evolute:
Hows the razor edge items working for you?

Did I send you the shipping address for the next person on the list?

Hi, John.

Please send me the name and address of the next person on the list.

I could use a little more time with them, but I am certainly open to sending everything off to the next person on Monday, if you want me to.

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. I'll have more comments on them after I send the off.

I was thinking about ordering some more items from razor edge and I see they changed there web site

Evolute,
How did it work for you?

Forget the email I sent you.
I did not see your post till after I emailed you.

How are the hones holding up?

The fine one looks like new, or almost new. The Coarse one is dished and is thinner than the fine one.

I would like to here what others think of the edge testers, as I am condemplating buying a few. Thanks
