RC6 different blade design?

If I remember correctly, the first models with a swedge weren't sharpened. This looks like a new sharpened version.

I remember these being talked about before. Last year I believe. I thought there was pics before also, but I guess I am mistaken in that regard. I will stick the original RC 6. No need for a fighter or a boar knife at the moment.

There were pics. I can't find the old thread, but we did get to see these before. Like I said though, I think the swedge in the older version wasn't sharpened.

I like the looks of these better than the shorter clip I believe they had on the prototypes.

I have to LOL, though, about batoning. I've tried ti with swedged knives before, and IMO there's much ado about nothing. If you do that much batoning, you should get yourself a proper tool. Even if you don't what's the worst that happens, you have to get another stick to hit your steel with??

unless I was gearing up for combat a sharpened swedge on an outdoor knife has no use for me. Can't choke up safely, cutting through batons.

I can't think of a single hunter I have known that would want a double edged blade for skinning and cutting meat.

As long as they are offered with both blade designs they will appeal to even more folks,

good marketingto each their own.

Actually the swedge comes in handy when field dressing whitetail/mule deer or elk...when splitting open the rib cage, a blade with this feature is very useful. I don't like it to be razor sharp or anything, but I have had knives with similar design and they've worked in the field for me.

guys when doing really fine carving work i put the butt of the knife on my shoulder and hold the knife almost like a pen... but without a back-edge you must hold the edge (bad) or only use the sharp corner (not edged) so the back-edge is excelent for very very fine carving.

Once the SHOT is over, any ideas for how long it will be before these knew designs are on the market?? I want that new RC-4!!!

Thanks, I guess I'll go ahead an order the RC-4 now...sounds like it could be awhile on the "new" one.

Don't you have a secret ninja credit card that your wife doesn't monitor? If not, you should! I tell my wife that it's for buying her gifts in secret.
