I just completed a deal with forumite RDT for a modified Buck/Strider tanto. I have wanted this knife for a year and a half, and with tuition and until this summer engagement ring payments, knife money was tight. Long story short, with some extra cash, a fiancee who wanted to help me get somethign special for my upcoming birthday, and one heck of an opportunity, I am now the proud owner of a SB-1.

Richard was very professional and fun to chat with over e-mail. My Buck/Strider came with modifications, which only improve the knife. In case you don't know, Richard is a knife maker, and a fine maker of Karambits! He satin finished the blade by hand, reground the tip somewhat to make it sharper, jewelled the liners and ground in 3 divots on one of the handle scales, making grip changes easy to do. He must have taken the edge off of the scales as well, for there isn;t the "bite" there that others talk about. The mods were done perfectly. I hand finish all of the blades that I make, so I really appreciate the work that Richard did on this knife. I feel as though I stole the knife from him too, 'cause the price was just awesome, especially considering the modifications he did. And if this isn't enough, he went and included a Crawfird Knives nylon sheath with it! Richard didn't say anything about a sheath when we were talking, so it came as a great surprise. Incidentally, the sheath is awesome. You can put it on vertically or horizontally, and the sheath looks very well stitched. I had a nylon sheath for my AFCK, which wroked great until a hole developed in the bottom of the sheath and the knife came out 1/3 of the way! This sheath looks a lot tougher. I want to note too that the knife was very well packaged. It came in the sheath, wrapped in 2 pieces of newspaper, and put in a well taped box. The knife couldn't move around in the box either, so it was nicely tucked in for it's trip to Canada.

Richard was great to talk with, great to deal with, and his mods are super. Go ahead and feel comfortable when trading with him, or when buying a knife from him. Go check out his Karambits too, as they look awesome! RDT is AOK.

Crayola....WOW ! dude that was very, very nice of you. I appreciate the kind words. People, I posted a "Goodfellas" thread here about a week back also extoling the virtues of Crayola but let me say here again that he's a fine fellow and a gentleman. He sent the $ quickly, it arrived sooner than expected too with the coming Xmas and new Year mail rush. As well, he's real cool to talk to and definately a knifelover and forumites kinda guy ! Thanks again Crayola and congratulations on your engagement and impending nuptuals !.....RDT:D
