Decided to give this a go here's the before:
After I scrubbed it with a Magic Eraser to open the pores of the bone...
Let it soak 10 minutes then rinsed with warm water then cold water. Dried and repeated 2 more times of soaking 10 min. Total soak time 30min. Used liquid Rit dye in royal blue (only color I had). Added more dye to the water after each soak. I used a lot of dye prob half a bottle. I was going for as dark as possible. This knife already had a patina so I didn't care about staining but taped anyways. The dye did go through the tape a little bit.
After: I was going for as dark as possible and I am pleased with this color.
