Read Any Good Books Lately?

Like Mike, I don't read book much since the kids gave me this computer. I lost one eye a long time back and reading is not as easy as it was before that. My favorite book of ll time is "Spirit of the Border" by Zane Gray. I would like to read it again soon. Zane Gray is one of our home town boys. Jamestown ND.

This was his forward to that book and explains why it made such an impression on me. Also helped me decide to get into a former job:)

"Dedicated to

My Brother

With many fond recollections of days spent in the solitude of the
forests where only can be satisfied that wild fever of freedom of
which this book tells; where to hear the whir of a wild duck in his
rapid flight is joy; where the quiet of an autumn afternoon swells
the heart, and where one may watch the fragrant wood-smoke curl from
the campfire, and see the stars peep over dark, wooded hills as
twilight deepens, and know a happiness that dwells in the wilderness
alone.

I just finished "Agincourt" by Bernard Cornwell. He's the dude that writes the Sharpe books.
Good read. Worth getting 3 hours sleep over, to finish it last night.

Ok, here is the last book I read, while on a plane, and I highly recomend it to you all. I thought it was a childrens book at first glance. I think I learned more from this short book than anything I have ever read. Try it, if you don't like it....put it away!

The Little Prince is a story of an aviator whose plane is forced down in the Sahara Desert encounters a little man from a small planet who describes his adventures in the universe seeking the secret of what is really important in life. Many mentions of mountains, deserts, and the ocean.

Shooting from Within by J. Michael Plaxco.

Galloway's Book on Running by Jeff Galloway.

Both altered the way I've traditionally looked at and trained for shooting and running.

I would recommend
River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey

It's hard to get into, it's long but it's rich in history, adventure, survival and really gives you a special understanding of life back then. I love history books but they are hard to read unless you are stuck someplace with all there is to do is read. If you get in that mode, have this one handy.
