Thrilled that there is a "user" drop blade out for the BCCI knife this year! Not sure I love the paperstone handles but with SV30 steel and a bare head I think it's a good buy. Plus, it's a drop point which I have been waiting for a long time!

Very cool in my mind:D

Yes indeed Steve...a DP barehead with Finger Grooves looks to be a winner!!
I'll have to have a couple for sure.

Forgot about the finger grooves. Also a nice plus.

Twisting in my head just how many I should order. May be the time to get a set for my young Boys also to set back (yeah that's the ticket, it's for the children:D)

Longbow- they are listed in the new BCCI flyer. I just got mine in the mail today.

i heard of these early in the year but have not seen them
no bcci news letter in my mail yet...
always later then the others..

X2!!!!!!!

Sounds like a real winner to me!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think alot of guys have been waiting for a drop point 110! S30V only makes it better!

Maroon Paperstone barehead in nickel silver and with finger grooves and S30V Droppoint.
Very Purdy!!! My scanner is kaput or I'd show it to you guys.
Oh, $80 shipped per copy:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Yes, I got my newletter on time this issue . That 110 drop point model is a real winner . I'll have to get one or two . Drop point blade of S30V with FG and paperstone with barefeet or barebutt . (Who ever called that type handle bare headed is goofy ). Plus a leather sheath, no nail nick and no pins . "Exactamente' Senor" . Heck, if you don't like the handle material --at $80 shipping included . Get it and put what ever handle material you want on it and it's still a good value . I want mine to use boys ! At one of the few well stocked knife stores in my area (over 125 miles each way) a standard blade 110 FG with the leather sheath is $62 out the door . For $10 more you get a S30V drop point blade the rest is shipping . The club knife has a mirror polished, drop point blade as well with Ironwood and buffalo with the 24kt. gold etching . Quite stunning . (You guys may only allow me to use Spanish once per post ). I think our club board members were reading our mail on these knives . DM

I need pics of the them.... Did you say Buffalo gold etch blade??? How much is that buff??? LOL... .... ITE

$175, shipping included. It is a real beauty.

Wow! It feels good to be a member of BCCI. I feel like I fell into deep clover Thank you for the tip ITE. You are all right.

In the south and southwest we'd call it 'tall cotton' . But I know what you mean . That knife is so striking, I won't be able to sleep tonight . The other 110 w/ S30V blade is sweet too . DM

ITE,It's the fancy one that has about 3/4" of buff with the rest ironwood...What I want to do is get both and swap out the blades and make the fancy one the user..The fancy 110 blade has your club number and # issued. You can only buy 1 club knife..likely 175 to 225 will be ordered..The Yellowhorse 112 for this year is a knockout!

Yes, great knives this year! Actually, this is my first year as a BCCI member and what a great start! :)

And you can order an unlimited number of bald head paperstone S30V 110's!

(I so like "bald head" over "bare head"! "Bald head" reminds me of the eagles I see flying around town so often.) :)

I'm definitely not a seller, but I bet we'll see these paperstone S30V 110s offered on e-bay for inflated prices. Seems like they really should set a low limit, like just a few per member. But that's just my opinion. Get while the getting's good! :)

A couple of good points are noted by Steve about this knife:

1st - The club put this one out as a "USER" which I think is an outstanding idea by the club. Knives we want and can use at a reasonable price. I like the idea of many many more "USER" knives being offered to us!!

2nd - The club has gotten Buck to do another run of S30V Drop Point blades despite the Bucks inclination to stick with the classic design of the 110. Never the less the club has managed to get S30V DP knives produced and made available to its members (S30V DP's are still a rare bird). As Steve said some have been waiting a long time for another opportunity to own that blade.

An excellent job by the club planners, Joe, and Buck Inc. with this effort.:thumbup::thumbup:

Other rambling thoughts are:
a) Does this mean a little barehead brother 112 is on the way???
b) Does the unlimited offer mean Buck has made a very large run of these DP blades and that other offerings will be coming with the mid-year releases?
c) Or will the DP be a CS option?

All tasty tidbits to chew on this morning with our coffee!!!!

Wolf, I agree and thats somewhat disappointing to me as a BCCI member . Our board listens to us, goes to Buck and gets them to make us just what we want at a good price . They sell well and we are happy only to later see it appear for sale at auction at a higher price . But thats the free enterprise system . Let them do it .. I'm happy ! Flatlander, I what what you had in your morning coffee . DM ;)

I think the street price of a this knife is well above $80. Frankly, I'd peg it around $125. That if true will tempt a lot of club members who like to resale to give it a try. I'm OK with that as the club makes a little profit on each knife sold and as they are the only middleman. And as David said, its free enterprise.

Also, the wider availablility of the knife due to resales should encourage the more folks to want to join the club and thus take advantage of the club prices themselves. A good thing also.

I hope that people don't order a TON of them for resale. That would bother me some, but they are also taking a risk that they may not sell well if many other people have the same idea. Or, if Buck puts out a more standard DP they may be holding theirs a long time to turn a profit. I personally don't think it's worth the hassle, but that's me.

In the end though, it means Buck makes/sells more knives which I think is a good thing.
