...really digging the Delica4...

Yes, the D4 is a keeper. I have 7 EDCs in my rotation but my D4 gets the most pocket time. The only thing I would change is a higher angle grind. Love the Vg10 blade, love the handle, love the lockup and the fit and finish.
It is a another classic from Spyderco.

But it's a magnet for skin and pocket fluff:D

Btw, anybody knows whether I need to dismantle the knife for washing, or can I just wash it as is and leave it to dry?

Ha! Yeah, that they are.

I've been using car (Vinyl) detailing supplies to clean the FRN handled knives I have. Just spray some plastic and rubber protectant on a rag, scrub it into the handle with the rag, let it soak, then wipe off the excess.

If lint gets inside the handle, I use q-tips and toothpicks to get it all out.

Much easier than disassembly!

Torx screwdrivers, T6 and T8. Take it apart... Uh... Clean each part... Put it together like this:

Get the handle scales and liner ready, put the D-Bolts in (except for the lockbar; do this last), put a washer in, oil it, put the blade on, oil it, put the washer on, then close it all up. Then with the blade in the open position, get a D-Bolt on the lockbar's spot, but don't push it all the way through. Get your lockbar and push it in, and then push the bolt in. Tighten this nut (but not too tight, or else your knife will open and close lousily, and then tighten the pivot. Actually, I find it better to tighten the pivot to where there's no/acceptable play, and then tighten the lockbar nut, making sure that it still opens and closes well.

The Delica 4 is such a comfortable and "friendly" knife. I mainly use it for light chores at the office. Opening up packages and wrap around cases of paper. Nobody runs for cover or makes a wise comment with this knife.

I started with the ZDP blade and now have 3 more variations on order that i want to put into my truck and tour pack on my bike.

I have a D4 and E4 and I have to say that they are great knives. No matter what Spyders I have bought I just keep coming back to them. If I had one complaint about both knives it would be where the hole is located for a lanyard.

It's too high up and placement of a lanyard is a bit awkward compared to the hole location on the Byrd cara cara, para and a few of the others. I have been thinking about grabbing an SS D4 because it looks like the hole is closer to the butt end of the knife.

Hell, if thats the worse I can come up with for these knives, they must be pretty great!

Always liked Delicas, but the newer D4s are excellent. Mine has become a permanent EDC. Rotate between other Spydies for a second carry blade.

The Delica 4 was my first adventure into the Spyderco lineup and I was so pleased that I am in the process of getting another delica this time with the emerson wave. My Delica is with me 24/7 and it is dare I say, the perfect EDC knife.
