Really loud knives!

My Spyderco MiniManix is really loud for a back lock. The full sized BM grip is really loud in a plasticy kind of way.

Same here! I wish my newest military, CF M390, had the same "clack".

The Millie will probably give the famous 'clack' once the lock has seated in, Tony. My last S30V Millie was quiet at first and now sounds like part of the family. :)

I just compared the sounds of my 50+ knives and, surprisingly, the winner is the CRKT Centofante Tribute. I knew I loved opening that knife for some reason and now I know why. It's louder and also has a more solid crisp sound than any other.

Another surprise is that the only knife that makes a sound, when I unlock the blade to close it, is my new Cold Steel Micro Recon 1. Has anyone had that knife long enough to know if that sound stops after using it for a while? It's a hollow sound that I don't particularly like.

My Microtech Select Fire is probably my loudest, even when opened manually that lock makes some serious noise. :D

:p

My loudest knives are my benchmade 5000 auto and zt 0350 satin version, I have the regular 0350 and it opens with a nice and loud *whack*, but the satin finish one is way louder, sounds weird I know but it's true

I went and tested my collection and my Cold Steel Prolite is loudest with the ZT 350 coming in second.

My SOG Flas II is really really loud. There is no way to open it quietly either as the assist spring immediately fires it open once you move the thumb stud. The only way to make it less loud is to fire the spine against my leg and then hold it open and slowly lock the blade. It's not a pretty or elegant knife but as been a good tactical and range beater.

My Emerson Horseman was the coolest sounding, especially using the wave to open. Trouble was then getting the stupid liner lock to release the blade :)

My Manix/Manix XL are very authoritative when opened and lock works well when trying to close the blade as well.

Speaking of the Dragonfly... When I flick mine out with my thumb, it definitely is a noticeable sound.

For me, I like the sound. Lets me know the knife is ready to do work.
